So the doctor called this afternoon like he promised. He is trying to dismiss the cyst as nothing even though I reminded him that last time we missed three cysts that were there for a year and a half before I finally got them removed. He said while I know that but I don't think this is an endometrioma. I happen to think he is wrong but I will go back in six weeks from now to prove it!! I also got an apt. with another ob/gyn to get a second opinon and see if I do indeed have a prolapse of some kind. (which I really think I do!) My doctor said he didn't think so because of my age, but that is only one factor, I'm overweight, have constant urges to pee and have been having direahea for the last eight weeks since my operation. I could very well have pushed something out of whack. I hit hyster-sisters this morning for a long time so I can make and informed decision. SO don't want another major surgery this soon. but...

COOL! I'm so glad you're getting a second opinion! That's a very smart thing to do especially since you don't think your doctor is right.

Ditto - nice work! It's hard to put all that effort into finding better care when you're not feeling well, but in the end, you have to be your own advocate. Best of luck, and keep us posted!

Sorry. Sounds like you're on the right path, though. Any chance you could remove the uterus and leave the remaining ovary in and then take it out if you find you have problems? I know some women with endo do this (even with both ovaries) and don't have problem if adenomyosis is truly the cause of the pain (which they won't know for sure until the path report on your uterus comes back). Maybe worth a try. They can also do vaginal hysterectomy, so they dont' have to cut you open anymore!

Yeah, ouchy... I'm considering it. Not having an ovary at only 33 is bad. I just worried about leaving myself open for even more surgery later. I'm looking at Hyster-sisters a lot and researching a lot. Unfortunelty I'm not a caniditate for Vaginal, because they are going to need to invesitage the endo while they are in there and remove any more that they can get. It would be nice to get the TVH because its easier recovery as well. Maybe leaving the ovary is a good idea. It's a hard decision to make for sure. Oh and yes the only way to diagnose Adenomyosis is after a hysterectomy. (spongy uterus as the nicknamed it) The ovary removal is up to me. The Doctor and I talked a long time about it. He was really cool I wish he could have performed the surgery. hurtin' now so its off to bed with my Narcs!!

Awww. Sucks about the vag being out of the question. Makes sense, though. Well, at least it might be keyhole and not laparotomy this time. Good luck with whatever you decide. Sounds like you're on the right path and have found a good doc! Yay for 2nd opinions! Hope you feel better. Have a good night and have some awesome dreams with those p-killers!

I'm sorry for the news But I am glad you got a second opinion. So did he suggest no hrt for the first 6 months to cause the endo to atrophy? Also, what does the hyster sisters say about leaving one ovary? Is there an increased chance of endo staying around with one ovary rather than without? It would be a shame if you had to have another surgery to take the ovary too. I'm sorry about all this news. I really think you've done all you could by getting the second opinion. At least you know you're making an informed decision. I really believe you'll feel tons better after this is over with. Keep us posted and always come back and vent to us!!

[glow=red,2,300]FRICK[/glow]! so... I guess Laprascope is out as well now since I have so much scar tissue, adhesions and crap! ARGH! I actually caught the doctor between apt.s this morning and Got to talk to him about everything. We both agreed the ovary is going to have to go since its going to keep causing the endo to grow and that's counter productive. I so... don't want another huge incision and major recovery. I'm [glow=red,2,300]freakin'[/glow] out a lot here!!

^...How can anyone say how much scar tissue you have without going inside to see? It's not like you can look at a person and say! 2nd opinion on whether laparascopy is possible.

because the scar tissue is what caused the first laparatomy. He has been inside to see! I had to go back to my doctor in Wenatchee who did my other one because its to complicated to do here in our small town. The doctor I saw yesterday said open as well which is why he sent me back to my former doctor. I looked on hyster-sisters and they said the same thing. They have to have an open insicion to get at the endo etc... I would rather know before I went in instead of like last time waking up thinking [glow=red,2,300]"wtf"[/glow] AND yes it totally [glow=red,2,300]SUCKS![/glow] I had a c-section with my second daughter and then may's laparatomy, so its a mess down there.

The scar tissue is on the uterus itself. I don't understand but I did get a second opinion and researched it on hyster-sisters

Yah. I had scar tissue on my intestines, uterus, etc. The surgeon cleaned it up both times. All of the stories I've read, the surgeon cleans up the scar tissue. I hope he does a better job for you this time.
