yeah, nothing like a good 'ol dump! I'm on #4 already today.......I feel like I'm 2 years old doing the poopy dance in celebration - so lame! LOL! Can you elaborate on internal exam? Or are you meaning a lap again? I'm so leary to ask for a lap because I"m only suffering for 1 or 2 days during my period so I'm not sure if it's worth it to put myself thru a lap or if it's necessary right now. Can people with obstructions still poop and would they be big solid poops or more the runs? I don't think I have an obstruction....just being paranoid but I do like to now what to watch for.

By internal exam I mean where they have a good feel of your innards by prodding your tummy and using a speculum to manipulate your vagina into giving access to your ovaries, or using fingers so that they can check things with 1 hand on the outside and one on the inside. I think I have made that sound very confusing. I can't stand them but it does give a lot of insight as far as I understand. I think with an obstruction you do tend to notice that your BMs don't match your eating, that you eventually lose your appetite, throw up up, diarrhoea or BMs are few and far between and are difficult because it took it so long to work through your system. Poop no4 sounds like great progress! I'm happy for you that it's all moving again. Not pooping can make you feel so blah but when it's also adding pressure onto a sensitive/painful area, ouch.

And crap, I didn't mean the doc would put a whole hand inside you during an exam. No, they save those treats for giving birth

Ok, gotcha! I did just have that kind of unpleasant exam when I had the bladder infection almost 2 months ago. My OBGYN did the vaginal exam and then felt my ovaries with her fingers and said all was fine. The ultrasound was normal as well. Then my regular dr. did another vaginal exam and did the unpleasant fingers up the poop shoot and finger in the vagina and said she could feel little pebble like pieces but it wasn't stool, she thought it was the endo she was feeling since the majority of mine is in that area. I'm so stumped because as the pooping is improving, so is the peeing. I've also been keeping a journal daily of when I pee, if there is pain and poops so I'm all over that stuff - now I can see what days I'm constipated and how it relates to my periods. I figure this can't hurt by tracking things.

I find I get constipated leading up to my period, but as SOON as my period starts, I'm able to have a few bowel movements that day. It's usually never an urgent trip to the bathroom, but I can usually tell that my period started by the need to go #2. Odd.
It's good to track things - helps make sense of any patterns, if there are some, and it's proof to your doc that it's enough of a pain that you're inspired to track it all!

Yeah that's a great idea in diarising it all, I have a pain tracking tool in my signature too it's really so good but admittedly I'm too absent minded to even use the darn thing. The connection between the 2 I imagine is because the added mass in your abdomen just makes everything so much more cramped and sluggish, pushes everything. Like stuffing your foot into a shoe 2 sizes too small. You can still walk but you lose all feeling in your foot and your gait looks like you've either got a gangsta lean on or have had an accident in your pants. If I ever have to have another exam like that I'm getting all the deets. I asked the sonographer what everything was last time and he seemed please with my interest in it all. It's so fascinating! I have never had the finger in my bum and my vagina at the same time, I count that as a blessing, haha!

Yeh, the Shocker is definitely no fun (Kevin Smith fans should get that). Cherry, I remember to do the pain diary by putting it on my favorites right under the address bar. I go down my favorites in order daily, so that way I will remember I need to make an entry in it.

Ok so this afternoon I drafted this long letter to my gyno's office. I told them everything that have been done so far. 2 months ago during worst day of my period, difficult to get urine started but no burning, stomach doing the wave, feeling like I'm going to puke, then the urine comes. Then diagnosed with the bladder infection, 7 days of bactrim. Feeling good until next period, same peeing issue on worst day but then fine. Last week Thursday awful, Friday worst day, peeing thing back AGAIN. Period was pretty much over yesterday ( I seem to be lucky that it's light and short, usuallly 3 days. No pain in my belly but pain near my ass and I feel like my ass is going to fall out. Purpose of my letter was to figure out who I need to see, urologist, regular dr, or gyno. The nurse called me back and said that she would call in more antibiotics for me ( not sure if this is the solution or not ) and that the dr is off until next week Tuesday and that she would have her call me then. She mentioned having the urologist scope me or go for another laproscopy. I'm leary to do another lap just because I only have the 1 bad day and then some other kinda not so great days but they are manageable w.o needing any medication. I only need tramadol for my worst day. I am scared that if they go in for a lap that might awake a sleeping giant and then I'll be really upset that I didn't leave it alone. I guess on the flip side it might be me alot of good and get rid of this for many years. Nobody knows but I don't know if the gamble is worth it. Currently I'm wondering if the chiropractic treatments/massage will help. Thoughts?

How long has it been since your last lap? If it's been a while, might not be a bad idea to have a look and take a look at things. I'm all about alternative treatments, but only if you know what you're up against. That's just my personal opinion, but it seems to be a lot easier to make decisions when you know what you need to make decisions about? If your lap was recent, though, it might not make sense to go in again unless there are some significant changes. But, as always, these are things to discuss with your doc!

My lap was in 2002. I was on continual BCP's from then thru 2009 June so no issues until recent from going off the BCP to try to get pregnant. Karen - I know you mentioned you had to have the scope up the urethra at the urology office - what caused that? Were you also having trouble getting urine started and then a hard time to get it all to come out full stream? That seems to be my problem. Again, this morning 1st pee of the day and it was hard to me. I'm so discouraged today. My gyno office called in the rx for the antibiotic, guess I'll pick it up on my way to work - I need some relief. Someone said also I should find a uro/gyno so it's more of a 1 stop shop. Again, I have this dull ache so I feel that it's tied somehow to this trouble with getting the urine started. I have no burning when I pee, it looks to be clear and I'm drinking alot of water or at least enough, 3-5 bottles per day plus a mug of tea at night. ugh.

Yeah, I had a cystocscopy (sp?). My symptoms at first were pain and urinary issues - really painful urination, not feeling like I emptied, lots of pain. It was unbearable, though looking back now most of my issues were pain that wasn't necessarily tied to my bladder, I just assumed that's what it was since I had the urinary issues. Within the first week of it starting, I went to urgent care and they noticed a lot of blood in my urine, so they assumed it was urinary and sent me off to a CT for kidney stones. Nothing showed up so they put me on antibiotics and when that wasn't better, my family doc sent me to a urologist who eventually did the scope. Of course, everything came back perfectly fine which is when I got a referral to a gyn and the ball finally started rolling.

Yeah, it's the cytoscopy. As far as the pain, was it burning pain? What was the cause of the blood in the urine? Was your urine pink or was it the microscopic blood that we can't really see but shows up on the culture tests? Was your exact issue with getting the urine started? I feel like I push and push to get it out, it's a real chore sometimes. I have been stretching at nights and definately on my right side when I stretch I feel that pain - I just want it to go away. Picked up the antibiotics on my way in but I"m so leary to take them - I just don't know if that's the problem or not plus they gave me the runs last time - not looking forward to that again.

Honestly, it's been so long and I was so out of it I don't remember a whole lot other than it was constant pain (no issues starting to urinate) and microscopic blood but none that I could see. They never gave me the cause of blood in the urine, nor did they ever find anything to explain it other than overall inflammation in my pelvis that may have somehow contributed to bladder irritation of some sort.

Have an update. I called my old gyno's office yesterday to book an apt for next Friday. All last night I couldn't sleep, just kept waking up, didn't feel good. I called the office this morning and they got me in at noon. This is the same dr. that was treating me with the continual BCP's for endo. We talked for quite awhile, I told her about this difficulty getting urine started and the nausea feeling I get when the pee is coming out during my period as well as the issue continuing but not nearly as bad once my period was over. I also told her about this rectal area pain on the right side. She did a vaginal exam, did the 'ol finger in the vagina/finger in rectum. She said she couldn't feel any masses at all. Everything felt normal and she reviewed the ultrasound from last month and said everything looked great. She really doesn't think that the bladder issue/rectal discomfort is from the endo. She is going to send me for an MRI to see if anything shows up. If nothing obvious she said I should see a GI dr. for the butt discomfort and a different urologist. She also gave me a different RX for the bladder - said I could just have a stubborn infection that the current meds are not responding to. She thinks that I also have a yeast infection thought I was just red/tender to the touch and itchy slightly, no gross white stuff at this point. I guess they send the swab somewhere and they will call me later to confirm if it's yeast for sure. So, tha'ts about it. I'm sooo tired, going to lay down, last night was awful.
