I'd urge you to sit on the loo and pour a jug of warm water over rather than pee in the bath, whilst you've had that infection you're risking spreading it to your vagina or rectum by sitting in water and peeing in it. I'd just be very careful of that. See how you feel after the full course of pills and when you're sure that the infection has cleared. You mentioned that you have endo in your cul-de-sac anyway so that'd possibly be the cause of the pain and the upset you've had with the UTI.

Those little fissures can be a pain in the a$s literally! LOL. They usually resolve on their own though. Keep an eye on it. I'm glad you're doing better! It must feel amazing to get back toward being normal after dealing with all that!

2 years ago, one of my cats came down with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disorder (FLUTD). We didn't know anything was wrong until he refused to eat, and was just laying on the floor on his back, and didn't seem to care when I gently stroked his belly (he is usually not like that at all). I did some research online and we decided to take him to the e-vet. He was apparently blocked, so they had to unblock him. If you can't pee, and you don't get unblocked soon enough, the urine will start backing up into your bloodstream and kill you quickly--like days. It comes on quick and is over soon, without medical intervention. Obviously, we are not cats, but there are some things about our bodies that are similar, since we're both mammals. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, anyone who has trouble peeing or can't pee, go to the ER ASAP!!

since I got home from washington, I realize I can no longer tell when I have to pee, unless my bladder is uber-full. my doc has explained that my pelvic muscles are in constant spasm which masks the pain and apparently it masks that I have to pee. has anyone else had this odd effect? I just keep trying to go. yesterday my ovaries felt so bad, like they were about to fall out, and I went to try to pee and peed for like 5 minutes. sure is strange! hoping pee urge returns as everything heals.

no, I haven't. I will though. I'm fairly sure it's to do with the pelvic muscle spasm, which Doc wrote me a Rx for a cream to stick up in my hoo-ha from a compounding pharmacy (down south, in WA) anyhow the charge appeared on my card, like a week ago, but still haven't got the prescription in the mail. anyhow was going to give that a try before contacting any doctors yet.... I do like to do my empirical studies unobserved it's rough living in the middle of nowhere. there's a disconnect from 'real' time.... have to wait forever for EVERYTHING to come in the mail! or possibly they forgot. I will call them now..... *calls* They mailed it on the 26th of October... Guess it's lost... idiots! I need to inject muscle relaxers into my vagina! Jeeze! They just called me back. my insurance covered the one that's lost in the mail. If I want to refill my lost Rx before the 26th of November it will cost me $100 out of pocket.... called the PO here, they said it's possible I have a package waiting but I have to come in in person, they wont tell me over the phone.. Gotta love the right to privacy! guess I'll drive on in to town tomorrow and in-ves-ti-gate me some mail!

Oh, and be careful what you wish for... Some days I WISH I couldn't feel the urge to pee! (I know, I know, you want a happy middle ground.)

I have been doing great since taking the antibiotic for last month's bladder infection. I had a period last week and day 1 and 2 were fine, day 3 is always the worst but I took the tramadol and it worked like a charm. I only needed 1 during the day at work and I made it thru fine, tired from the tramadol but no other side effects at all. I took another at night just to make sure I was comfortable. Friday I was great. The only day I had issues was thursday peeing was hard again but that was the only day and like I said after the tramadol that helped things out. When you saw the urologist and had the tests, did they diagnose you with IC? I have taken the questionnaire and I don't believe I have IC - those people tend to rush to the bathroom to pee, pee ALOT like more than 20x per day up to 60x per day. I don't have any of that though I'm thinking the bladder infection didn't fully clear up because today I haven't been feeling 100%. I'm wondering for those with endo on the bladder do you only have symptoms during your periods or are the symptoms all the time regardless?

sorry to hijack your thread with my blabbering anyhow girl! One thing, I always hedge away from any 'new' diagnosis - too many generalities and assumptions - sounds like what you've got is a lot more involved than me 'not feeling' the urge to pee. I'll shut up now and let someone more experienced post a good answer.... hope it gets better soon either way!

Nope, I never got an IC diagnosis, they sent me away saying everything was fine. Eventually after my lap and the swelling finally went down, so did my urinary symptoms. Never got a real answer for them other than it must have been all the inflammation. Sorry, that doesn't help you, does it?

I'm sooooo annoyed today. I went on wed. for another urine sample to send for culture. I called the urology office today and asked the nurse if my results were back. I have to preface this with the fact that she's got a major attitude and quite frankly a **tch on the phone. She puts me on hold, comes back and says that it looks like the test was contaminated and the numbers were all crazy but she needed the dr. to look at it. Then she says well you're not having symptoms are you and I'm thinking um, gee, I didn't just call the office 2 days ago asking for another round of antibiotics just for the heck of it. So I said to her yeah, I'm still having some slight issues and all huffy like I was really bothering her she said she'd have to call the dr. on his cell phone. I hung up with her and it was about 4:35 - I get home, wait around and by 4:50 I figured something isn't right so I called back - of course, the office is now closed. I'm livid. Now I have to go all weekend long not knowing if the test was bad, if there is still an infection I'm now loosing tonight, plus the weekend of antibiotic treatment. My hubby said next week to go to a different urologist ( who a friend already suggested a reallly nice caring compassionate one ). I'm so over this. Sorry to vent but this really sucks. I wanted to feel good this weekend. Peeing has been good but like I said, I know how the bladder infection felt and I still feel some slight bladder pain, very slight when I pee but it's starting to come back. I'm very in tune with my body so I know what's going on isn't exactly 100%. Argh.

re: pretty, That feeling never went away after my last surgery. I just got used to it and learned to deal with it. The urulogist said the endo was not inside the bladder. He did a cystoscopy, but he had no doubt it was in the muscle and driving the bladder crazy. BUT you should get it checked out when you've given your body a little time to heal just in case.
