I am trying to figure out if the pain I am having is endo related or something else. For the last 2 months during my period I have noticed that I'm having a very hard time passing urine, when I finally get it going I can empty my bladder but it's painful during my period. This week I have been finished with my period and I'm still having trouble peeing and I have this dull ache near my bottom. Not to be too graphic but I have to be, the pain is literally on my right side, near my butt cheek and it's not a hemmerhoid or anything like that. I don't have a fever but do feel a little naucious. I'm wondering if I might have a bladder infection? It's not burning when I pee but there is some discomfort. I'm confused if this is my endo or something else. I'm sorry I didn't put this in the bladder thread section, I see nobody has posted there for afew years.

You poor girl I know that whenever I get my period, or a hormone spike (I can feel it when I get one...so strange) that it really burns for me to pee. I am almost positive its because of my endo. And funny enough, when I was a kid, I had burning urine that we could find no cause for. I'd scream. And now it all makes sense. But having a urinalysis wouldn't be a bad idea to rule out infection because its common for endo women to have problems with kidney/bladder/urinary tract infections.

This sounds exactly like what I get. During my period I find I just can't go properly. - I'll take several trips to the toilet and even when I know I need to go (sometimes the pain and the need to pee all gets mixed up) I still can't go. Eventually I will go but it is uncomfortable and whilst I know it isn't an infection it is uncomfortable afterwards, almost like it might turn into an infection - I did an experiment though and found that the uncomfortableness went after about 20 minutes (usually I would down water to be on the safe side but I didn't drink anything to see what happened). I have a constant dull ache all along what I call my butt bone and the pain level varies depending on the time of the month. When I don't have my period the whole peeing thing is better but I never feel 'right' if you know what I mean. I also find that during my period and for the 2 weeksish afterwards, if I stay standing for a bit rather than sitting down straight away I feel a bit better as sometimes I will sit down and have a searing pain where my bladder is and then stand up and it goes!! With me though, every time I pee I think about it as I just get infections out of nowhere.

I finally broke down and called the dr to have a urine test run, went after work. The urine in the cup was completely clear. The nurse asked me where I was hurting and I told her right by my butt and if I put my finger there and press it's painful. She said possibly kidney stones? I've never had them before but she said to wait and see if things get any worse. No fever. I hate this endo, it causes so many problems and I never know if it's just another endo problem or something more serious. I hate this. I'm so over a bad period and then after my period I am having problems. This sucks! I want to get pregant NOW!!!

I've been having a lot of pain in my lower back...like pain I've never had before and nothing makes it go away...I'm thinking kidney or gaul stones...but I'll know more monday after I see my NP. I agree tho...having all these extra problems linked in with endo really takes the cake

I've been doing some research online and think I might have found the cause of my mild but very annoying pain near my butt - could it be levator syndrome? I wonder if this is what many of the other ladies on this board suffer from? I massaged the sore area last month and took alot of warm baths and that finally got it to go away.....any thoughs? I've never heard of that - I'll look into it. Hot baths and hot water bottles are how I get through the pain a lot of the time!

Whatever it is I need to get this taken care of. I'm in pain right now at work - need to call the dr office to see what happened with my urine test. Still this throbbing pain near my butt, uncomfortable to stand or sit. Getting my morning pee started wasn't fun, it was hard to start, then it was weak and had to push alot to get it going and even then it was disapointing because it seemed to be very little. I am very concerned.

Yes, please get that checked out, and be sure to tell the doc/nurse that you're having a hard time going. A coworker wasn't able to pee for a bit and it was a big issue, amd fast! When it comes to not being able to go, that's NOT an I-need-to-suck-it-up-and-just-deal-with-it moment!

Karen & All -
I've been thru hell today. I woke up and just didn't feel well but got ready and went to work. I called my obgyn about this pee issue and she told me to call my regular dr. I got in right away and she did another urine test, said some blood showed up but very little. Sent me for an ultrasound which I was very lucky to get in right away. They marked it stat so the dr. just called me and said they didn't find anything. The tech doing the ultrasound did the outer part first, then told me to pee which I did, went back for the internal wand and she said my bladder was still really full. I peed again after about 10 minutes and she said it was better but still not empty. Ugh. I feel like puking everytime I pee. I just called the urologist and am going for an emergency apt on monday. Is this normal that this just cropped up literally this last period? The dr. told me to buy this stuff, forget what it's called but it's supposed to turn my pee orange. She said to also take the tramadol and advil if needed. seems like alot. I'm very scared - this does not seem normal. she said over the weekend if I can't pee I need to go to the ER for a cathater - OUCH!

Yikes! First off, glad you were able to get in, and glad you're able to get an appointment to see a urologist on Monday. I hope they're able to figure out what's going on! I'm glad the u/s tech was able to confirm that nope, you're not emptying things out.
As for the stuff that turns your pee orange, I've only gotten a prescription for it (peridym? I know the spelling is WAY off there!) and that tends to help for pain when you have an infection. They might make an over-the-counter version that's somewhat similar. Hope this gives you at least a bit of pain relief in the meantime.
And, yes, if things get worse, please don't wait to go to the ER!! I really, really hope you feel ok soon, and please keep us posted, k?

I'm very afraid. i have taken 2 baths already and had to pee in the tub because the toilet was just too hard. I can't believe this just came up all of a sudden - I'm deathly scared. I hope it's not that cystisis - is there any way to live with that? Can I even work anymore?

Do you mean cystitis or are you talking about something completely different? Cystitis can be treated, red peppers and cranberry juice are supposed to help, I believe!

Feeling ok today, more embarassed that I can't pee like a normal person on the toilet, can only go in tub like some freak but I guess I have to do what I can do until I see the urologist on monday. I'm just so taken back that this came out of no where. Until last month, I had never had any urinary issues ever, maybe 1 UTI ever and that's it. thanks for being so sweet.
