This is horrible, but I am glad to see people still have a sense of humour throughout it all - Frankenstorm

We got very lucky here in DC. Lots of rain and strong wind but that's it. We didn't lose power at my house which surprised me! The ER I work at lost a few tiles in the roof. I guess half way through the night the roof collapsed and they had a waterfall inside the ER. It's all fixed and cleaned up now. Overall this area didn't suffer too much damage. Some trees fell, some people lost power. The people who got the worse of it were NJ and NY. I feel so bad for them.

My neighborhood was really lucky-- not even any power outages. I feel guilty. :/

We're having a snow day today! From 11:00 last night until now, we're up to 12 inches and counting. It's cold and wet/heavy, but it looks amazing. Here's a snapshot from my living room window. Attachments:

Pretty.....but I'm scared....it's going to hit the Chicagoland area starting on my commute home.....they say 2-6 inches but who knows.....I'm prepping for the worst!

I'm working from the comfort of my home, so I think it's wonderful! However, if I had to drive in it, that'd be another story... Luckily, most places closed today so no one is tempted to drive around here.
Drive safe!

Exactly! I'm just kicking myself - I had originally taken every Friday off in December but gave them back to use in the new year since I was able to roll them over. Well....if overnight is going to be the worst, I'm sure tomorrow is going to SUCK. Arghhh.....isn't that always the way? Seems to be my luck lately! LOL! Sad face.
