Wow! I'm so glad I read this thread! I have had the worst pain in my lower back and pelvis on the right side for quite awhile. I had my first lap in December, and the doctor removed endo in the cul de sac. I was pain free for a whole week. Then, the pain returned with a vengence! I went back and told him that I was in excruciating pain on my right side right around my hip. It radiates into my right cheek (the one not on the face), and sometimes into my right thigh. I have it all of the time, but I limp during my period because it's worse then. The doctor sent me to an orthopedist. The ortho brushed me off too, and after doing several very expensive tests told me it was pelvic and I needed to see a gynecologist. Needless to say, I was so fed up by then, that I didn't go back to anyone. It's almost as if I'm having a tough time describing the pain. No one seems to understand the severity of it. It's a very specific area in the right lower quadrant. It's burns like mentrual cramps, but it really feels like it's in my intestines, and it usually comes with diarrhea, mucus, and sometimes blood. Lately I've noticed a big lump in that same area as well, but the doctor does not feel it. I'm I crazy, ladies? Some of you have described your symptoms on this thread, and they sound eerily similar. I've been told about acidophilus before, and I've tried fiber supplements to no avail. Anybody have other suggestions that might make me feel better? I'm a fairly healthy eater, but I do have a weakness for caffeine. I've already been tested for Crohn's and celiac.

P.S. I had my appendix removed at the same time as my lap, so that's not it.

Except for your associated bowel troubles, I recognise the pain all too well, especially the limping. My hips kill me when the endo is bad. My left is worst, and that seems to be where my endo always is too. They clear endo plaques off the ligaments that support my girl bits, which seems to do the trick and my GP agrees that the ligaments would cause referred pain in the hips. Get another opinion and ask for a colonoscopy. I get masses in my upper abdomen, with pain and a feeling of needing to vomit, which needs to be investigated as they found no endo. Cass and I were half expecting a blockage. Good luck in getting some answers. GI is a minefield for getting a correct diagnosis.

I've had my GI tract looked over several times. I've had a sigmoidoscopy, two endoscopies, and a colonoscopy. At one point I was told I most certainly had lymphoma, but when the doctor actually went in and took a sample in the area, he found absolutely nothing. I didn't really want to have lymphoma, but I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaalllly wanted there to be something in there to explain the pain I was in. I can't really afford the GI doc right now. Maybe I just need to explain it to the GP again. How did they find the endo on your ligaments? I've read about that and always wondered if that may be the case!

I was told for years i had IBS, ulcers, appendicitis, indigestion, had 2 or 3 endoscopies, colonoscopy, and it always came back with nothing. I was referred to a top gastroenterolist who tested for crohns, celiacs, all types of different bacteria and stomach disorders and in the end just told me to change my diet.
Fast forward 12 months and i had endo all over my bowels and appendix requiring resection and appendectomy.
I think I had every GI test known to man!

I kept telling my GP for the longest time that I had pain on my lower right side, but it never seemed like appendicitis to him because I never had any other symptoms that fit. But, when the gyn went into to do the lap, he found that my appendix was most definitely covered with endo and had probably been infected for quite awhile. I've been reading a lot more about endo on the uterosacral ligaments, and I haven't found that anyone has it treated any way but surgically. My lap was so painful that I was hoping to avoid surgery, and I'm not sure where I'd go to get it done. I'm completely fed up with my gyn at this point. I'm feeling a little hopeless about the whole situation. I'm in constant pain, no one will listen to me, I'm completely broke from everything I've had done so far, but I just refuse to believe that nothing can be done for me. Thank God I found this message board, or I'd really be up a creek, if you know what I mean. Thanks for all of the help and advice.

!! Don't read this if you don't want TMI !!
I'm sitting here in agony, and thinking back to the early days of when my periods started. I remember a month or two before I got my first period I went to the loo and all that came out was a massive amount of pale green slime. I told my mum and she said 'Maybe you're going to get your periods soon'. It's never happened since.
I used to pass a lot of blood on BMs in my mid teens, but not all the time (now I think back it could have been cyclical), I eventually went to the doc and he reckoned I had piles, had a sigmoidoscopy and they were supposedly cauterised. The bleeding then got worse. Shortly after that I started to take the pill, and I really don't remember passing much if any blood while on it. I was 'diagnosed' with IBS when I was in my early 20's - burning sensaion in my guts, a sensation of someone putting my innards in a vice, constipation one minute, diarrhoea the next. I also had BMs where it was two for the price of one. I learned to live with it because one tended to cancel out the other so neither got too overwhelming.
The main reason I went back to my GP this year was because my symptoms started to change, and it was just nearly always constipation. If I needed to have a large 'movement' close to my period it would get stuck like I had no strength to get it all out. The even closer to and at the start of my period I notice I get the runs again. Over the last two months though, after pretty much every BM I tend to get severe rectal pain. I did a big poop this morning and within an hour the pain starts (it's uncomfortable when I go but not too painful - that comes after). So I'm stitting here now and it feels like someone is shoving something large with bits of galass on it up my backside - it's excruciating. Also in the last couple of months I started seeing someone so was having more regular sex - could the two be linked? Seeing a GI on Tuesday. Not looking forward to them poking about in there. Seems so much worse than having the other bits prodded! lol. Lord it hurts :-( Sorry this was so long but wanted to write it all down. The more I learn about endo the more I'm convinced that's what's going on. Wish they'd hurry up and organise my lap!
Hope you're all having a good day xx
