so the X is working pretty good. I'm still playing with the settings though. It kind of seems like rotating them is better? Any ideas anyone?

I don't know if my dad still has his. If he does, the next time I'm over there, I'm going to try it on the exploding ovary, and see if it works.

I LOVE MY TENS MACHINE!!!!!!!
Just thought I'd post as my TENS machine is working wonders for me and I wanted to let you all know as it may be worth trying if you haven't already.
I've cut down on painkillers - still taking more than I want to be but that's mostly due to rectal pain. I swear I haven't felt this good in sooooo long!!!

Awww I'm so happy it's helping you. Getting mine last year was definitely a bit of a turning point for me. Pain relief with no chemicals...how cool is that?

I love it so much! I like to pretend I'm wearing some kind of futuristic device though with all the wires!! But on a more sane note, the reduction in the pain meds I'm taking has really been noticeable!

I'm thinking of asking my pelvic pain dr. for a script for a tens machine. Is there a particular one you guys like? Does it really help to reduce the discomfort? Like on a pain scale of 1 - 10 where are you before you use the tens and then how far down does it take the pain level for you?

Hey Chica. As you know I'm in the UK so can't comment on models etc, but I love my tens machine. It took a short while to take full effect but then there was no looking back. I use mine every other day usually, and I've found that if the pain is unbearable pain, like when I have my period, whilst it won't stop the pain by any stretch of the imagination, it does have an effect on it. But that's the extreme for me. Day to day I've found using my tens has made it more possible for me to do 'normal' things and as the relief can last for a few days I know I can use it in advance of something. I'm not sure about a scale of 1-10 as the type of pain I get varies as does the location so it's difficult to pinpoint, but I would definitely recommend one. You can heated ones as well apparently!!

I read online that you can get ones with a probe for vaginal work. I guess I'll wait and see what the pelvic physical therapy people say on Monday. The people on the IC board suggested the EMPI w. probe or the 7000 tens brand. I have no idea what's good or not good so I'm hoping to hear from everyone else who's using them! Thanks Gem! I thankfully don't have pain daily, just period pain but that's more than enough to send me into a spiral fast. Now this stupid spotting isn't helping matters either, thankfully cramping is minimal and comes/goes.

Mine's a TPN 200. I can go from hobbling around due to the back and hip pain, to walking quite normally and feeling comfortable in a matter of seconds. It's like magic. I still feel some niggles but greatly reduced.

Only just realised an online pharmacy here does TeNS machines really cheap. The most expensive, with extra electrodes on top, which offers great features like heated pads and a mains adaptor for power, is only £40 plus free delivery because having a chronic condition, I don't have to pay VAT for it. I've felt disgusting on morphine and codeine for 2 weeks and my period is due this Friday so I'm so excited about receiving it.
