Haha. You and your spiders.
I've been looking for one as well and am going to ask my Dr this month. If he doesn't know much about it, I'm going to just search ebay and the like. They don't seem to be too expensive for a basic one.

Ouchy yeah I think you are thinking of the same thing... it is little patch like things they stick to you that puts out electrodes (or something) to me it almost feels like that tingling feeling you get when your hand or foot is falling asleep.
I love the way they feel....my chiro said they price any where from $20-$800 dollars depending in the type and functions it has.

tess I have tried searching for one to buy too but can not find any sellers from the states. all the sites I found are from the UK and I do not know what there value of money is compared to ours so could not even figure out the price in american dollars. If you find a site that sells them please let me know.

tiff, the Ova is tiny, the size of an egg and is marketed for menstrual pain, so maybe your chiro has the same but a generic version (just not called Ova) Tess, that sounds about right, on a rough conversion from sterling to USD, it costs the same as the TeNS Ova I bought 2 years ago. I wore it to bed the other night, it really helped me get to sleep as it brought the pain down to a very dull roar. I agree the one off price is well worth the trade... £20 here wouldn't even get me 3 items on prescription (they are a set charge of £7.10 per item, though in other parts of the UK prescribed meds are cheaper or even free)

Thanks Cherry- It is a TENS machine she had showed me and it was real small... not as small as an egg but maybe the size of a deck of cards. But she said she would look into the Ova for me and also see what others machines were available for menstrual type pain.

Whats a deductable?
Sorry I am probably being dumb and though I have health insurance, I have always had stuff on our National Health Service i.e. for free! Except for dentistry!

it depends on your insurance but we do not have a co-pay so we have to pay the first $200 in medicaL expenses (which is our deductable). Once we have paid the first $200 then my insurance starts picking up the medical expenses. But like I said depending on your insurance when they do start covering medical expenses some pay 100% some pay 50% and you cover the difference. Also everyone has different deductables too.
The medical here in the states is very very different then that almost every where else. Most people pay to have insurance either out of pocket our through their job benefits. I know it sounds kind of weird to pay for insurance and than pay more in deductables just for them to cover you. Hope this answers your question

Here's is the TeNS topic from days of yore I'm a big fan myself. Pain relief with no nasty effects like ongoing prescription charges or side effects. I am having very acute pain atm and even though I still only have a TeNS Ova it's blunted the pain down to the point that I can walk around my home. Now that my painkillers have kicked in it's making up for what they can't do. Preferable to being hospitalized any day Any questions just post here or send me a PM

woohoo!! i got a tens machine! its made my EMPI and it has preset modes ( back, low back, shoulder, knee and wrist) and then it has other modes, continuous, burst, modulated and smp(dunno what that means) and im not sure how high it can go, cuz i usully keep it on 3 and you can also change the frequency of how fast the pulses come. I love it! of course it was a billion dollar ($795 to be exact) but my insurance pays 80% so it will only cost me around $200. YAY. i love it. It clips right to my pants. YAYYZAYAYAY!
