Hi I was wondering if anyone has tried this machine for pain? I was thinking to purchase one (I think that my insurance will cover it) and I heard that is good menstrual pain and some places recommended for endo. I would appreciate any input anyone can give me.

Hi, I have experienced it once and have to say I did not obtain any pain relief from it at all. But, I have heard people say how good it s so maybe it works differently for everyone. x

We actually have an entire thread on this that I think Cherry started. I can't find it right now, though.

Minnie: Thanks for your input. Did you purchased one? Ouchy: tha'st what I thought and I did seach but I couldn't find it. Now that I tried again I noticed that I am getting some kind of an error so not sure if it is my machine. If anyone has the link to this thread please post it here so that I can access it, I would like to see info people posted... Thanks a lot!

^I know! I wanted to go back and read, too!!!
If you get that error thing, just keep hitting refresh. Sometimes it takes like 7 or 8 tries, though! Our search feature SUCKS!

Thanks cherry! I read the link. Thanks a lot! I will be seeing my endo doctor in a month so I will ask for a prescription and I think I can get it pay by my insurance. And as you are saying in your post, is not that expensive anyway and it maybe worth trying it (I guess painkiller and not all that cheap either and well all the side effects!). I'll keep you posted.

The link is on tens but has a different title. I searched for it a while ago too and couldnt find it.
So i might add my bit here. I tried it once, and it gradually increased my pain, within 10mins was in 3 times the pain i was originally in and it took ages to settle it back down. So just a warning, not for everyone.

I'll ask cherry to edit the title in the other thread.

KB, the pain you would have experience will have been muscles contracting and the like, in response to the stimulation. By the very nature of the thing, it could not have increased the pain resulting from your endo! I had started with the Ova as it was small and the cheapest, and was actually looking to buy a much more advanced version by the time I had my op. It is easy to control though you have to spend some time learning which level best suites you, and on which frequency too. After all the trouble I had with narcotic meds and NSAIDs, wanting to give my body and my bank balance a break, it was a blessing to have this little thing. On days when I couldn't get out, having the TeNS on made it easier for me to do things around my home, and other days just made the pain more manageable so that I could get on with things. It's just that much more comforting to know that it doesn't have side effects like painkillers do.

Im so glad it works well for you Cherry, its great to have a non drug alternative isnt it.
I agree, couldnt really have made the pain worse, but it certainly aggravated what was already there. I was dissapointed it didnt work, I had a small one too and it was on a low setting so it shouldnt have aggravated it that fast, but i tried it when i was at my worst, it was a time alot of things that should have worked didnt.

Yeah that's the problem. I used the C pulse one a lot if I was in so much pain that I'd need relief in the shower. Cos the C wave gives pain relief for a while after the TeNS is off which is great. I wish I could just find it!

Ok after first hearing about the Ova T.E.N.S machine from Cherry I have been trying to find more information about them here in the states. I have talked to both my general prac. and GYN about them and how to try it out or get a prescription for one in order for my insurance to pay for part of it. No one knew much about it or where to get it.
I on Friday decided to ask my chiropractor about it, and what do you know she actually had a few to show me( not the Ova TENS but smaller ones that can be worn under my clothes for mentrual pain). She said she was going to research them and see which would work best for my issues and then contact my insurance to try and get them to cover it.
Looking forward to trying it. I have tried TENS for my back before and loved it, so I hope I can find a little relief with the TENS for mentrual pain too.
