A few weeks ago i tried the Gillian McKeith's 24 hour DETOX programme..I paid £20 and suffered 24 hours of agony. An hour after taking the most awful tasting drink(tasted like food gone bad mixed wid vomit) my stomach started to make funny noises. I ran to the toilet and ...no DETAILS ! i had to take four sachets over 24 hours.. It was a powder of the following ingredients. Having read this i thought ..oh thats doesn't seem too bad ..lets give it a go..(never again) Papaya, Pumpkin Seeds, Lemon Balm, A special proprietary trace blend (Oats, Sweet Potatoes, Donq Quai Root, spinach Leaves, Wheat Germ, nutsake, Carrots, Chickpeas, Pineapple), Magnesium, Silica
My whole insides were turning..i wanted to puke..it gave me a really a bad headache...i had no energy left in me. I ate lots of fruit and had soup...but the thought of another glass of the foul drink was making me more sick. I also had to drink a glass of grapefruit juice (which i hate) with olive oil..ewwwwwwww All i did was drink and run to the toilet..it was a horrible DETOX and did nothing that it promises to do ..i felt weak and sick..and promised to never touch any of her products again.. Does anyone have any other DETOX programmes which are more appealing ?

I have done a detox but I think Gillian McKeith looks a shifty sort, so I don't do hers, thank goodness! I just go to really simple foods, raw or steamed if poss, no meats, and water or camomile tea with no sweetener. Closest I can get to starvation! Wow that detox sounds harsh though, I bet it was a massive shock to your system. I ease into it and ease out. What I do probably can't even be classed as a detox but I do it to clear my insides of the rubbish every so often. Come out of it feeling much better, if a little hungry xx

Cherry i always thought Detox was supposed to make you feel good..give ur body the extra energised boost. But this..i can't even describe what i went through in those 24 hours of hell..thats exactly what this detox was ..HELL ! I'm looking for a more relaxed detox programme that does not make me sick after taking one sip of the drink ! I think i need to stock up on green tea

Camomile tea is great, I like it cos I hate green tea, that aromatic power drink! Maybe try what I did, stick to snacking all day on raw or just steamed fruit and veg, no added bits like salt or sugar, no carbs. Lots of water, no meat, lots of tea (either camomile or green tea with lemon is good) If you can't get by without sweetener, have a little honey. I recently did my fake out detox eating loadsa porridge. Yum haha xx

Thanks Cherry... Honey is a natural product and there are many benefits to it..i'm definately going to try another DETOX..lets see if i come across something good. The one that u have mentioned looks like a relaxed one ! How about the Carol Voderman 10 day Detox ..thats if i can last that long !! Time to get myself down to Asda then

I have taken a natural tea detox and really liked it. It was not an immediate thing but over a weeks or two I definently noticed the difference.
The one I used was from Yogi tea which can be found online if not at your local organic stores.

Thats a good thing then..but the one i took started to work within in an hour or so and top of that gave me a severe headache. I had no energy left..and had to drag myself out of bed. Can u imagine running to the bathroom when u feel so weak

If it gives you a headache, you had no energy, and you were running to the bathroom I do not think that wold be worth the benefits. Wow it is amazing the side effects they leave out on these things.

Exactly ..infact it said the complete opposite ! Even days after i was feeling the effect of the DETOX. The only good thing is that it said do it on a weekend or when ur off work ..that was a warning in disguise..LOL

Hi there!
A few years ago, I tried Flor Essence, which is usually found in specialty shops or online and it REALLY did HELP LOTS. I felt much better for a while after and my immune system seems to boost.
Don't get the pills..get the pure liquid bottle. I remember it did not taste very well , but it worked. Oh, and one had to sip it slowly and not down it.
Thanks for reminding me about this...I need to try it again. I think I get some soon!

Tiff it was on the weekend so that helps..It's a DEFINATE no whilst at work..
Doll i've never heard of Flor Essence. How bad was the taste of the liquid ? How can u detox on something that makes u feel sick or throw up as soon as it goes down your throat !
The experience has not put me off detoxing ..but next time i'm going to do my research before i taken anything like MADAM GILLIANS detox programme ! ewwwwwwwww:(
