I'm beaming that some of you are starting to understand why I've been raving about PPT! There's a lot of stuff that can be affected when our muscles are all jacked up!

I've always wanted it and now I get to do it, yay! And if it helps fix my botty issues before I even have to go to that constipation clinic, double yay! I love doing things to help myself. Endo does such a number on us that sharing this stuff and taking back control of our bodies through diet, attitude and exercise is so empowering. The day I can say I'm drug free I'll be a happy bunny. May not happen but getting there will be a great journey and a every day is a middle finger to endo.

I didn't realise how funny it sounded but it keeps making me laugh when I see it! I feel like that every morning at the moment though. Monday taught me a lesson in pain and that every morning that I wake up without that level of agony is a joy and I'll go do star jumps to celebrate. Cos I can, thanks endo, you skank.

Well put Cherry, a middle finger to endo, LOVE IT! I'd like to add that gesture where you bend your elbow and put your other hand in it, just another way of telling endo to F off! LOL!

After binging on a holiday feast last night, I'm feeling the pain of constipation now... I can only get a tiny amount out every hour or so, but no sense of satisfaction and things just aren't moving. I know constipation is a big issue around here - whether it be meds that stop us up, endo, food intolerances, etc. In a desperate attempt to get some relief, I did a search and came up with this: youtu.be/5XGwvPoiItw Self-massage (abdominal) to help you poop! I'm going to dig in and see if I can get things moving. Figured I'd pass it along in case anyone else was in such desperate need of it, too! Wish me luck?

Thanks to my new gyn there is finally a theory as to why I continue to have problems with constipation and severe pain and spasms after bowel movements. During my exam she pressed on the muscles in my pelvis causing some extreme pain!
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction! For those of us with Endo, it is often caused by the ongoing pain and inflammation, however the muscles can continue to be tight and in spasm after the Endo itself is resolved.
To have a normal bowel movement the pelvic muscles need to be able to relax. If the pelvic muscles are tight or in spasm they cannot do this properly so to actually go you have to essentially force it. This is also why so many of us have severe pain and spasms after going, and why gastro treatments for constipation do not work.
Stool softeners are still a good idea, as the softer the bm the easier it is to pass.
The treatment for the Pelvic Floor Dysfunction is Pelvic PT and I'm also getting Valium vaginal suppositories. These are so great! The drug mostly goes into the pelvis so more goes where it's needed and I don't get all wonky in the head. Also! On days when I had trouble going, about an hour after placing the Valium I have been able to go.
I started a thread on Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Endo in the General Endometriosis board.
