I'm okey dokey! It was so late that my consultant didn't see me (that happens to me all the time I have the worst luck) but my left is a bit sore. I had a really hard time with the enema there were shooting pains down to my feet and it wasn't even harsh as bowel preps go, my bowel is just very sensitive. I'm certain the endo is back on my bowel and hoping that yet again it's just superficial and not into the bowel wall. Just adhesions please God. I'm not too outraged with the mistakes made as I got my procedure done, I was well cared for and the Russian nurse took an interest in my endo and chatted to me about it on my way to theatre. I love sedation though! My anaesthetist was lovely and gentle (last one at my most recent lap shoved the big 'white stuff' syringe in fast so that my wrist was bruised for ages after) and it was the usual tingly cheeks and fall asleep. He said 'tell me when you're gone' and I said 'I can't' and then zonked out! Upside of this is my bowel is nice and cleared out in preparation for little sister's period next week!

LOL! I love that you're so chipper!!!! Hehe! And yay for awesome anesthesiologists! I somehow always wind up with studly anesthesiologists (minus my c-section but was to preoccupied w/ that surgery to care)! It's always so dreamy to get the foggy sensation while staring at this totally handsome guy holding your hand. What a nice way to go under!

I'm in great spirits after a rubbish start to the week, need to watch these mood swings for possible depression but I hope it's just getting rid of the tonsillitis and having good news from friends and getting a date with a man who isn't suffering behavioural problems and getting the sigmoidoscopy done that is making me happy. Ooh mouthful that. Ana my anaesthetist was a very old guy but just totally lovely and smiley! Again the consultant anaesthesiologist who was called back in for my recovery from my last lap was a rude tart of a man but hopefully I won't see him again. Getting some discomfort on my left again as my bowel is filling up but nowhere as bad as yesterday and the wind is all gone now. Bowel trouble will be ramping up this week. After the scope, sigh!

I wonder how many of us with the bowel issues if tested have colitis? I'm a colitis patient now too.so if it flares during a scope they can catch it or on ct but if its not flaring no way to know. And guess what....Autoimmune related! What's not with with us. I suspect endo is the root of that too. No idea why I think that but I'm tracking my symptoms to see when and if it correlates to my ovulation which I am planning on getting a ovulation kit to see when everything gets worse. I'm costipated now and laast week the opposite. I bet my next bowel movement is black like tar seems to be the routine.
Cherry glad its all over and your sedation when well I woke up my last colonscopy it was not fun. I said to the doc I have never seen this on tv before had a convo felt pain and they gave me more sedation that then knocked me out for days.

I was wide awake for my sigmoidoscopy and watched it on screen. Odd.

I was wide awake too for my sigmoidoscopy - seeing the tube advance on my butt gave a whole new meaning to the phrase 'does my bum look big in this'!!!!

Well this is my next scope and if I have to have it anyway I want it like Cherry and I want to be chipper and sedated! April 7th is my day. Checking for colitis curious how many of us have had and they have seen anything? I was awake for some of the colonscopy and it was awful but kinda cool. I thought I was on a tv show LOL I kept saying well I have never seen this before. The doc just gave me more versed and knocked me out so much I didnt really wake up for days.

The sigmoidoscopy only goes into the lower bowel. The worst part of it for me was the air being pumped in, but they're generally not too bad. I also had one when I was around 17.

I had enough accidentally seeing my vagina on a large screen for the mirena insertion so a camera advancing on my pucker would have had me retching. I am not big on the anus it gives me the heebies. I'm glad I was sedated it was like being anaesthetised I was just out for the count! My sis and a friend had pain that woke them up but luckily if I woke I don't remember it. When I ate bad stuff the pain was comparable with endo it was that awful... Even when endo pain kicks off my bowel with the stress (which I have more control of but it happened last week) the pain generally has me ready to faint. Just lower abdomen combined agony. I can't say how grateful I am to have been asleep.

I'd never reccomend anyone be awake for a colonoscopy though, that goes way further and I would not want to know about that.

HAHA cherry the anus gives you the heebies! That was funny! ANd I agree Helen, I'd want to be sedated too. That's way too much for me.
I've always been a lurker here but figured I should join the club since I have digestive/bowels issues now. ugh. Not fun. But at least I have you guys to cheer me up!
