I had a friend in town yesterday so I did the whole D.C. tour sight seeing thing with her. I was out for about 10 hours, non-stop walking up and downhill in the heat, then we ran through a torrential rain pour. It completely WIPED ME OUT. I'm totally useless today. I really thought I was back to normal again after my last surgery but after yesterday, I'm totally knocked on my ass.

Well, now you know...so don't do much too strenuous any time soon!

I was thinking though, I think 10 hours walking in the heat will kick anyone's ass so I'm not sure if I can blame it on surgery or not. LOL
Oh well. It was still really awesome to get out and have some girl time.

Yes, that'd take the wind out of most people's sails! Just pace yourself x

OK OK I'm resting today! I talked myself down from the gym when I heard the endo voice of reason pop into my head. LOL

it was also really humid yesterday. I went on a run and got my ass kicked too. Plus, DC tourism is exhausting anyway. When I think of DC tourists, I think of exhausted families with kids that are hungry and need to pee.

I'm glad you commented Kristin because as I was typing about how 10 hours of walking in the heat would kick anyone's ass, my thoughts literally went to, "Well, everyone except Kristin." HAHA! But if you say DC touring is exhausting, that makes me feel a little better!

Gracious, Jenaya, you lasted way longer than I did. It wasn't horribly hot yesterday (90 or so?) but it was REALLY humid. I was running down by the monuments/Potomac river and the storm hit me at around the Lincoln monument. I took a nap after my run, which I NEVER do, but teh humidity was ridiculous! So I was out shorter than you, AND took a nap.
You might have actually crossed me--you didn't see a short, snickers-built girl in a sports bra, running shorts, and baseball cap, with a 3 ft braid of red hair, did you?

HAHA! I wish I saw this thread 3 days ago! On Friday I went on a trail ride to Elijah Bristow, the most beautiful trail park ever that's very popular among horsey folks, with my friend and her daughter. We got to the barn at 2, trailered out to the park around 4, and rode around until 8. This happened because we got lost..... and then we were almost there in the dark so we spent probably the last hour trotting around trying to find our way.. it hurt like HELL! And then when we got back we had some work to do so I ended up getting home around 10pm... it was a LONG day, so amazing and fun, but I don't even remember the last time I felt so broke! By the time I got home I had a migraine (probably because all I'd eaten the whole day was a small bowl of yogurt because I never expected to be out that long) and every joint and muscle in my body ached, and my endo was hurting SO bad from the trotting that it was radiating down my legs and numbing them! It was such an awesome day/night but lordy did it make me feel like death!! I miss you girls! I'm in Bend, my 3 year old cousins are here for a visit, so I'm a very busy bee! I'll be back (like really back back writing all over the place.. hehe) in a couple days!

Kristin, I was actually looking for you every time I saw someone on a bike or if I saw a flash of red hair! LOL. When that big storm hit we were actually at the capital so I was on the opposite end of the mall. The humidity was really bad though. We got SOAKED in that storm. It was hilarious! At some point we just stopped running through it because no matter how fast we ran we were soaked from head to toe. Hey Jess, hang in there! This is good training for when you become a mommy!

I am so dumb....this is all my fault and I take full responsibility. Worked all day Saturday, then birthday party for grandma that night and up early Sunday to set up and photograph a anniversary party. Lots of lifting, running and no break my stupidity...I hate my body now I work at 1 and cant even think of getting out of bed right now. OUCH! Back, Neck, Arm ....I feel like I was hit by a truck! The party turned out amazing for the special couple 50 years but gosh I should of sat for a little and drank the water offered to me. I keep going tho like a complete idiot!

(((( I'm sorry Keri!! Isn't it amazing how easily we can be made to feel that way? That's what happens when you face chronic inflammation, your body exhausts itself trying to keep things under control! I'm happy that you had a good time but you need to take it easy missy!

I think we've all been guilty of the do too much thing... We WANT to be able to do all that stuff, but our bodies kick our asses for it, and with good reason... But still, it's not fun to get the reminder. I hope you're recovered today!

Just finished marshalling the 50 States Ride--a bike ride put on my my husband's organization during which you ride on all 50 of the state streets in DC. The ride is 65 miles; what with getting to and from, and the marshalling effort, my computer was reading 94 miles by the time I got home. It's a rough ride--lots of bad hills--and I'm completely beat. Not even sure I'll be able to walk tomorrow.
