Well, I got up early, had brekkie, spent a couple of hours hard labour in the garden, made lunch and vacuumed. I took painkillers before I started, and a little while after I settled down. And I really don't feel too sore. Might be the way forward grils......! I never thought of taking a painkiller BEFORE. Does that actually work?

Yes, it can. Does for me. Anti-inflammatories in some way are a medicine rather than a painkiller. Given how much bending/lifting/raking I did yesterday I was really pleased at how little pain I had.

hmmm....I will try that. I took a percocet tonight before I did the flooring in my exercise room but that's only because I'm getting a migraine. BLECH!

I seem to post this each evening before I head back to another week of work, this is my last one I promise...
I literally cannot list the things I did in the last 3 days! My fiance's Trans Am was in a car show (long day in the heat), fireworks with neighbors, spent 9 straight hours doing laundry, groceries, and organizing my WHOLE basement. Seriously....LOL I'm SO tired and my back is killing me.
BUT...all of my major house project are now done. We've got to swap out our ceiling fan in the living room and swap the bathroom mirror and we are ready for our housewarming party. I'm LOVING my first house, and LOVE that we're lived here for less than 4 months and it's almost completely the way we want it. And now I can actualy relax on weekends instead of having to bust my hump for 2 days straight.
Bonus: My fiance will now work every Saturday from 9-1, so every saturday I will get a little "me" time to just chill and relax. YAY!!

So I'm on a week off work, and what am I doing with it? Housework! Yesterday I gave the kitchen a good going over, and the dining room. Today I've spent most of the day tidying my living room. I'm making myself do it cos it's the only time I've got to get it done - I'm too lazy on weekends! Anyways, I have my TENS machine on, and I'm doing it in stages like the pain nurse told me to. I'm really tired, but pain isn't too bad, and I'll feel so much more relaxed for the rest of the week chilling in a lovely tidy fragrant living room! Yay!

Ugh I went to boxercise last week thinking we'd learn to box. It was circuit training and I got a bad pain and had to go off to be sick, like at a circuit training class that I went to ages ago. After a while stood outside the class in embarrassment I felt better and went to the gym and did some cardio instead. I do the bikes, some rowing or cross trainer (they both kill me!) and the stairmaster, none of which give me any pain but them I guess I always stop them when I'm tired out. For about 5 days I've had little twinges in response. I think I should only do low impact or maybe just build myself up gradually, classes aren't for me.

Did anyone ever start the "sudden and complete exhaustion rant" that was suggested? I thought it was just me because of all the surgeries. I get these horrible waves of nausea, and exhaustion. I call it "the deep down bone tireds". I definitely "broke it" today. I'm allergic to grass but I don't know how many more sunny days we will get so I mowed our lawn to help out the hubby since he took an extra shift and isn't home to do it. I am feeling all kinds of wheezy and melted to the couch I'm half sitting/laying on while I type. I have been trying to exercise more, riding the bike and figured mowing the lawn is a decided cardio! LOL

Onto the "sudden and complete exhaustion" idea.
I did a MILLION things yesterday. Our housewarming party is this Saturday, and I'm going to be doing a million more things this week to get the house super cleaned and totally ready (along with working 45+ hours). anyway, we were putting up the new ceiling fan yesterday in the living room and I swear we got the heaviest model available! Anyway, i was holding it and I seriously thought my arms were going to fall off. The stupid thing wasn't going up right so I was holding it in the air on and off for well over a half hour, probably closer to an hour. My muscles were SO shot after that. This morning I wake up and my the back of my THIGH of all places hurts so bad, I can hardly move! Everytime I sit, stand, bend, squat, or lift my leg anymore than an inch off the floor, I'm grunting because I hurt so bad! WEIRD!

So, yesterday was a good day, got a lot of houswwork done. Woke up exhausted, lazed around, popped to supermarket then spent hours cooking a two course Sunday lunch for mum, stepdad and brother. By the time we finished coffee I could hardly move my back is so sore. TENS machine you are my saviour! And if that doesn't work I'll pop some diclofenac!

I am completely at fault but I went to the gym, had a rocking time as you do, then went to Asda as it's kinda on my way home and I wanted crepe paper for crafts. I came out an hour later with a load of Christmas crap, no crepe paper, bottled water and sports drinks. My abdomen hurts totally my fault I could have gotten a taxi home but I will be whingeing in the daily bitch fest tomorrow.

I should be a pro by now at surgery and recovery but I don't listen to my own advice. I went to lunch with my friend yesterday and got my hair trimmed. She drove. All was good it was a nice day. I however had it in my head that Monday was the day I was going to attempt to drive. So Jacob gets out of school and I take him to see a movie and then to dinner at Chuckee Cheese don't ask it was his pick. Ok so then that was already enough right oh no my friend was sick so I dropped off soup and had to pick up yoga pants! Came home and stayed up til midnight. I can't move now. I'm upstairs laptop, meds, water and food are downstairs and I have to call my sis to come over and help me. Ummm I picked up a cold and cough ya duh I went to germ central last night with a low immune system! I am a big idiot but it was worth it all to see Jacob smile and say I love you mom thank you. Its been so long since we have been together having fun. Months of him only seeing me sick. I will have to get all the way better so I can enjoy more days like that w him.

I'm with Karen. Obviously you know better, but you made the choice.... I would have done the same thing. Kids contain their own healing properties, love and laughter, which make up for germs, exhaustion, and bad food Love you Keri! i bet your boy was so happy just to roll with Mom!
