Whatever 'it' is Due to snowy conditions I walked home from work the other night, there was no public transport and no cabs, I live fairly close to work and decided not to skip out cos we had barely any staff in and it's local council services that we deal with. I liked the walk cos work had been difficult, it relaxed me, I had some crazy new tunes on my iPod and it was pretty beautiful to look at all the trees and churches and parks under the fluffy blanket of snow, the world near silent. Snow never sticks in Liverpool! So it was a nice but somewhat slippery walk home, only 3 miles and I slept like a baby. I've since been in a lot of pain, started spotting (though that's now calmed down) and been tired/grumpy/asleep with my eyes open. I'm so disappointed, I had a gentle walk that made me feel great, only to be half dead from it for the 4 days since I did it. I was also feeling like maybe the worst of my endo was behind me after a nightmare year. This isn't anywhere near as bad as before but I'm just sad that I feel this bad after a little walk. So if you've overstretched yourself and paid for it, put your foot in it here!

I like to think I'm Superwoman. In the past 3 weeks I have learned I'm not.
I was told when I left the hospital not to lift anything. Within 5 mins of arriving home, I carried my (albeit small) suitcase upstairs. 3 days later on xmas day, I pretty much made the whole dinner on my own (not because my family didn't want to/wouldn't help, but because I think I'm Superwoman) including bending/lifting the turkey out of the oven etc etc. Not long after I vacuumed most of the house and seriously tidied up my spare room. After most of these incidents I suffered intense cramp that had me rolling round in agony.
Anyone reading this just before or just after a lap - it's no joke, take it easy!

I second that! I lifted a vacuum cleaner, hell, sitting on my bed sorting through clothes, reaching over and moving black bags with my feet left me sweating and tearing up. Be gentle with yourselves! Not that that Helen listened

I did eventually.........I know better now. Unfortunately too many people said 'Oh it's nothing, just a little cut, you'll be fine in a couple of days' and my best mate had a couple when she was TTC and was out on a hen night the night after one of them, I felt that there were expectations of me to recover as quickly. And had it been purely diagnostic mybe I would have.

I can't even shop anymore! When I do go then I am in bed for two days after! WTF!!! I never used to be this bad. God help me - so now I have resorted to shopping online - and that is even more dangerous!!

Yeah it's not nice for other people to expect things because they think they know. My boyfriend badgered me to be 'present' when I wanted to do was snooze in my drug induced stupor, and I'd get wound up, feel the need to physically participate and then do myself an injury. You see Helen, your need to move, making mistakes about how 'well' you feel and the pain you feel afterwards makes sense. My body is just p*ssing me off cos I no such reasons for needing to be delicate and being in pain! Cindy I'm all too familiar with that. Before my op every time I lifted a bag I'd start bleeding. I didn't strain myself, just had that dull ache always, but then I'd be in pain after as a result. Endo sucks sweaty donkey balls!

I'm still really suffering with this pain. I can't live my life regretting exercise. I think I'll have to insist on a pain clinic appointment as I'd love to be more active like a normal bloody person and not turn into sleepy grouch every time I take a leisurely walk.

Yes, you should. After I say orthopaedic doc again last month (bulging disc pushing on nerve to add to endo pain) he's started the ball rolling to get me seen by a pain specialist to talk about nerve block. I had loads of ibuprofen and paracetemol yesterday and the pain barely shifted.

I'd happily consider that 'chop your nerve' surgery right now, though a chemical version would be much easier. Don't mean to trivialise it, can't remember the name of the surgery now. The worst thing is that I know this pain is pointless, it's not symptomatic of the horrible things that I feel could be happening inside. There's hardly anything actively happening yet I feel like in being stretched apart, sucked in, stomped on and beaten up from the inside out. This is a vicious little circle I'm in. Exercise is good for my mental health, but it starts the pain, the pain kills my mood, stops me from being able to exercise. Even if the pain settles, I am scared to exercise. Eff you endo.

Nope, I just came across it on a website whilst doing yet more endo research! I'm on a waiting list to see a pain specialist so hopefully I'll get to find out more then! I'll share the knowledge!
