The pain could definitely be a functional cyst. I get pain from them all the time, and that's what i thought my endometrioma was at first, until the pain got worse and worse and didn't go away! Hopefully that's all it is.
My main pain that i'm still having is also ovary pain where my endometrioma was, and really horrible pain and swelling in that joint. all the lymph nodes on that side still seem swollen and very inflamed.
I'm definitely interested in pelvic pt, but i'm not sure where to go for it...

I'm very depressed.
I went back to my gyn to have another ultrasound because of the pain after activity/exercise. He told me the cyst is the same size--small--but now he said it's an endometrioma. Before, he said it was a functional cyst. I don't understand how he could change it from being a functional cyst to an endometrioma, especially since he said it stayed the same size.
I am very worried it's going to grow. The last time I had a small endometrioma, it grew fast and got large in only six months' time. I tried asking him a couple of questions, but there is a language barrier with my gyn. I really like him, but I feel like I didn't get all my questions answered. I am feeling like maybe I need to have an ultrasound by someone else... I want to know EXACTLY what this is.
If it is an endometrioma, there really isn't much I can do about it. I already had one on my left ovary... now there's one on my right ovary. :-( He said not to worry about it, as if it wasn't a big deal, but I'm scared! He said he didn't think it would grow. How can he say that? That is EXACTLY what endometrioma's do! He said to come back to see him in 6 months or whenever I feel like I psychologically need to (so as not to worry or whatever). Then I definitely won't be waiting 6 months!!! I feel like that's too long to not know what this thing could be doing. Maybe 3 months.
Now I feel like I should stop exercising... but he told me not to. He said... just to keep taking my birth control and it wouldn't grow. How can he be so positive? Maybe because it's not HIS ovary. :-\

Oh no!! I'm so sorry. If I were you, i would definitely find a different gyn. It's so important for us to have a doctor who we're totally comfortable with, since this is a condition that we're going to have to deal with our whole lives. There is a chance that he could be right, and it won't grow with the bc, but i think you should go talk to someone else either way. The first time I had horrible pain from mine, i went to the ER and they told me it was a hemoragatic cyst, so I don't really trust ultra sounds when it comes to endometriomas. I hope he was wrong, or that it doesn't really grow. I'm so sorry, I know how bad it is I kind of feel like my right endometrioma is coming back, because i have so much pain on that side, but it hasn't gotten bad enough for me to go to the doctor yet...if it has grown back my ovary will have to be removed, because there's barely any of it left.

I'm sorry, it is really annoying when you get one answer but then another (worse) answer. If you like him, maybe give the office a call again to talk to him. He seems really open to seeing you back in the office, too. I'm not sure that anyone can definitely tell of its an endometrioma by just looking via ultrasound, maybe some other gals have more experience on that one.

Started my third period since starting Camila. So far though, it's really light and mostly spotting. I wouldn't mind if my periods from now on stayed this light. Spotting for a period would be great... LOL.
Yesterday I felt like crap and my right ovary, where my gyno saw that little cyst, was aching like crazy. It was a dull constant ache for about half an hour with sharp pains off and on. It went away after about 30 minutes, but then the rest of the day I felt so icky. Soooooo tired and couldn't stop falling asleep and just feeling really blah. I feel slightly better today. At least no pain in my ovary so far. I really did not like that. :-\ And weird how even a supposedly "tiny" cyst can cause so much pain!

I remember I had a supposed "tiny" cyst on my right ovary and when I had my lap it ended up being like 3 tiny cysts all hanging out together and they were so damn painful! It literally can make your entire hip and leg hurt. I really hope the pill brings you some relief!!

Ugh, yeah, i am on my period AGAIN (i think i've had more period days than non period days since i started this pill) and my cramps have been HORRIBLE. The bleeding is definitely not as bad as my normal bleeding, but the cramps are pretty freaking bad. I still have tons of pain in my right ovary, but it's not as bad as it was before surgery...just constant ache, and sometimes a shooting pain. Still have a lot of swelling in the lymph nodes there as well.
So far i feel like the pill is just making things worse.

I also had horrible moody pms the other day and I NEVER have that. And INTENSE cramping before my period which is also weird for me, it normally only gets bad once the bleeding starts.

Yeah, I had like 4 or so days of cramps BEFORE my period starts, which is normal for me BEFORE I was on BC, but don't know why it's doing it while I AM ON BC. The first couple of months on BC I didn't really have that... so I don't know why I did have it this time. The cramps DURING my period though are MUCH better. Didn't really need any pain meds except for once or twice. Before, I would need pain meds all the time and TONS of it.
Unfortunately though, I had more pain in my right ovary again today (where that cyst is). I hate this and it's so stressful. I have no idea what it's doing and don't like sitting around not knowing. The cyst I had on my left ovary that was pretty large did not give me this much trouble! And this one now is smaller! :-( Aughhhhh... sick of dealing with all my health problems!!!!

I really realllllly hope it doesn't give you trouble like the last time! I'm hopeful that the BC will work for you. It takes a while for it to really have a full effect but we can all at least keep our fingers crossed for you that it helps. The waiting game is the worst part.

I've been having ovary twinges off and on in both ovaries. Which is weird, because my gyn said the cyst was on my right one. (of course I already had surgery on the left one, so maybe it's scar tissue causing twinges... who knows!)
Even though I don't hate Camila and am actually thankful that it has helped control the pain especially during my menstrual cycle, I am wondering if there is something stronger out there because Camila has not stopped me from ovulating and I doubt it will. I wouldn't mind if I continued having a period with it, but not when it seems to speed up how often I ovulate. I just got done having a period like 13 days ago and I already just ovulated again. I suppose that is sort of normal, as they say, normal time for a woman to ovulate is Cycle Day 14, but I don't like ovulating that early. Before I was on birth control, I would regularly ovulate not until Cycle Day 19 or 20 or sometimes even Cycle Day 25. I had longer cycles, but they were always normal.
I was reading about the different types of progestin-only birth control pills and don't even know if there's a pill out there stronger than Camila. I know there's one in Europe called Cerazette, but I don't think it's offered in the U.S. yet. Micronor/Camila stops around 50% of women from ovulating, while Cerazette stops up to 90% of women from ovulating. Is there something like Cerazette in the U.S.? If so, I would like to try that for a while. It would be nice not to have to worry about a period for a while. I also think that not bleeding would help my endo (of course that's just speculation on my part).
Anyone know of any progestin-only pills stronger than Micronor/Camila? I know there are shots and the under the skin thing, which I am sort of interested in, but would rather try a pill first. And no, I don't want to try combined birth control. Just my preference.

Someone in a community in livejournal brought up the possibility of taking more than one pill with Micronor (with asking the Dr. first, of course). I wonder if anyone else has ever done this with Micronor? You think it would be just like a stronger version of Micronor and possibly stop a woman from ovulating who still ovulate with one Micronor pill.

there are tablets that are stronger that are the same type of progestin as micronor/camila. Apparently it is a very low dose as that is what my Dr. had said. The other pills are just for endo or other issues and are not really "birth control" (not tested as such). The one I take is stronger and prevents ovulation but is not available in the USA yet (nor is it birth control either). I just posted again on the Visanne thread. After that first month, with a light period and several spotting days after the period was over, I never had another period. No cramps, no endo pain, no period....nothing. So this one is definitely stronger as I had the same issues as you ladies on the micronor which made me bleed every two weeks. Also, it's a different type of progestin too, so I think that makes a difference too, in how you react to it. Probably your Dr. can tell you if there is the Cerazette type pill in the USA. The only pill I know that has the same progestin I'm taking that is available in the USA is the one that is a combo pill. Actually the progestin is even higher than what I take in that combo pill (there's a thread on it that I created in the drug category).

Thanks for the info, Redwood. I read through the Visanne post completely and posted there.
Why is nothing good ever available in the U.S.? So now us U.S. women have to suffer while waiting for something better to come along? :-\ I'd really like to try Visanne too!!!

I have a feeling that the combo pill with the dienogest (the progestin in Visanne) was approved first since it's birth control. The drug company probably makes a lot more money on birth control pills than on treatment for endo. Just a guess.....
Not sure why they are so slow on approving it since Canada already has it. Or maybe Canada normally approves drugs before the USA? I'm not sure. I'll answer your post also on the Visanne thread.
