Well I'm back. And I want to say again how much I like this new GP I've found. She's very "normal", and is pretty much the only doctor I've been to who takes endo seriously, even if she's not particularly experienced in it. She did a rectal exam with her finger (first time I've had that done--I didn't know whether to feel sorrier for her or me ) and said that she felt "nodules", that could be hemmorhoids, endo, or something else. I'm 100% betting they are endo. I'm at day 29 of my cycle, and the bleeding certainly feels cycle-related. Anyway, they scheduled me for a colonoscopy, but it's a day I absolutely can't do it, so I'll have to reschedule I guess. I have to do something the next day, down in my hometown (yes, it's called Farmville, Virginia), and I'm not sure I'll be up for it or not. But my other bloodwork was normal, though iron was low and my WBC was high, but it always is. She was convinced my thyroid would be out of whack, but the TSH was apparently normal. Thanks for the support, ladies. It's been so helpful. I would have just ignored this, probably.

Yay!!! Good for you for going to your GP and she sounds awesome! I'm not sure if youve ever had a colonoscopy before? When I had my two colonoscopies I felt perfect the next day..better then I have ever felt. It was the same day that I was tired and drained. So you might be able to keep the appointment. Just a thought. Glad everything worked out.

OH good I'm glad you were able to see her and get some things done. That was quick! So you have noticed that your symptoms are cyclical with your period? Geez and that surgeon was soooo sure it wasn't endo.
Do you have to wait long for the colonoscopy?

Glad you were able to get in quickly! If you need some help convincing them that it IS in fact cyclical, try www.reliefinsite.com. It's a fab tracking tool, and you can put your cycles and your pain and other misc symptoms on the same graph to print and bring to an appointment! Hmm, and as for your TSH... in my case, TSH (which measures your pituitary gland's perception of thyroid function) was completely normal but it was the T3 and T4 (which are the active thyroid hormones that your body uses) that were actually low. Not saying that'll be the same for you, but any chance you can convince her to at least check one of those and put thyroid to rest for good? Just my two cents! Whatever the case, although I'm sure a colonoscopy won't be fun, it's at least a precaution... I love your new doc already!

So glad you were able to been seen quickly and that you like your new doc.
I had a colonscopy almost a month ago and while it wasn't my favorite thing in the world, it was reassuring to know that nothing was wrong.
Hang in there and I hope they are able to figure everything out for you.

Thanks, you all. I can't believe I found a functioning doctor-she actually takes me seriously when I tell her I'm in pain. She also is quite funny. When I gave her a sort of not-looking-forward-to-this look, while she was preparing for the rectal exam, she said "What, you never had d*ck in ass?" (She is from Belarus, and has only been in the US for a year or so).
They are still waiting for final confirmation on the date, but said they found an opening on June 3rd. This speed is mindblowing to me!. Now, I just have to pray my period keeps delaying, because if it is endo, I assume it won't show up if I"m on day 3 of my cycle or something.
Also, maybe if it's endo, that would explain why I've still been so tired and struggling to function, and I'm still having a lot of pain. I was really hoping the lap would fix me up, and I'd feel like I had the energy to be myself (go running, bike around, be fun and up for anything, etc). Now, I just force myself to do it b/c I don't want to give up on being me.
Thanks for the suggestion on the pain tracking site. At the moment, I've made a google calendar for everything. That was how I finally convinced someone I had a problem, was when I had 9 months of chronic, cyclical pain and bizarre bleeding. It's not ideal. Maybe I'll switch over.
Also, great to know I won't feel bad after the colonoscopy. gotta go to Farmville!

That's great news that you can get in so quickly! I'm glad your doctor is listening to you. About what Karen was saying with the T3 and T4, I had a doctor tell me that a borderline low TSH level will sometimes clue a doctor in to test the T3 and T4 but if the TSH is right in the middle of the normal range then they don't even bother. Depending on what your TSH level was, they may choose to test the T3/T4 or not.

Great that you can get in so fast and your Doc is taking you seriously. She sounds awesome. And after reading the "d*ck in ass" comment, I think I love her.

Great news, great tracking site Karen thanks for that info too. I'm catching up on all our newbies and gotta tell you when it comes to endo on the bowels or any bowek issue my experience was SLOW so happy yours is fast and being taken serious. As for the colonoscopy the prep is the worst of it the actual procedure most patients don't remember a thing you wake up not even knowing what has been done. Good Luck keep us posted with results please!

Yes, I'm so happy with this doctor right now. She really is the best one I've ever seen. Maybe I should have gone to Belarus for care a long time ago.

Where's she at? Maybe I want to see her. My GP is so wonderful but he's really difficult to see because he's so booked up.
