I know this is a horrible thread to start and dont reply if you dont feel comfortbale doing so but does anybody else actually bleed from there bowels? I suffer really badly with my bowels and do bleed from them and was just wondering if anybody else does? My doctor says this might be the endo but I need to wait to see the specialist first. (end of May) I guess two questions really, does anybody? and How do you cope with it ? Now ladies, I dont tell just anyone I bleed form my bum so feel blessed LOL Im sorry Ive just got to see the funny side, I didnt EVER think I would be openly asking this of people. Okay so I also just posted on the drug treatment board under Lupron because that is what has been suggested to me. But yesterday when I went to the doc I let her know that I have been having some bleeding. Now this will only happen for one day out of the month and it seems that it is always on the last day or two of my period. It will be bright red real thin blood. Nothing heavy or thick. But it seems that I will have that happen for only one day and then it goes away. This just started about three or four months ago. She wants me to schedule a colonoscopy to make sure that there are no adhesions there. I know that there have been a few other posts about this issue, but is this normal with endo or is this a whole other issue that I get to add to my problems? I know that can't completely be answered without having the exam, but I am worried and depressed enough that now I am scared that I am going to have some kind of cancer too. I haven't called yet to make an appt I am going to try to do that today. But fear is really making this hard to pick up the phone.

Hi, my name is Melissa and I'm 32 years old with chronic endo which I've had three lapo surgeries along with severe IBS. I've always had painful bowel movements and some rectal bleeding during my period but was told it was related to my endo and not to worry. In February this year I started having severe rectal bleeding after every bowel movement and even worse pain. After having numerous test on my bowels was informed that I had a large mass in my colon causing a blockage. I feared the worse thinking it may be cancer but wouldn't know until another exploritory surgery which I had on March 2, and they found I a large endometrioma that had grown into my large intestine. I had over 8 inches of my large intestine removed. Now just over six months later, I've having problems again and have been told there is nothing else to do but have a hysterectomy which I'm scheduled for on Oct. 15th. My advice if you think your bleeding is abnormal sent medical attention at once and if the doctor tells you not to worry then get a second opinion.

hi girls... i too had rectal bleeding with my bowel movements. my bowel movements were nerver ever normal and i took myself to the ER when the bleeding started and once again they sent me home citing gastro. 12 months later i had 40cm of small bowel removed with a huge enod nodule on my rectum that would have resulted in a bowel blockage had they not removed it. bleeding from the rectum is serious and souldnt be taken lightly so make sure you get a second opinion.

I went to my endo doctor this week becuase I have been throwing up blood on the first day of my period and have been seeing lots of blood in my stool before my period. This month it is happening after my period as well. Last month I was nauseous all month with terrible diahreah. My endo doctor referred me to a GI specialist and I go in on March 3rd to have a consult. I am also trying to get pregnant but will put that on hold until I figure out why I'm pooping blood!
I googled my new GI doc and he looks very good so it makes me worry less.

I went to my GI specialist today and he scheduled a colonoscopy for Thursday since that will be a few days before my period. He was very nice and has dealt with endometriosis in the bowels before so when he heard I had 3 surgeries and endo was found on my bowels he immediately schedule the colonoscopy.

I just came from my OBGYN appt. yesterday, came home stressed and humiliated, I do like my doctor, but when I mentioned to him that I have bowel bleeding every full moon him and the nurse laughed at me, i am sure they didn't mean to hurt me, but it is true! I know it not my hemorrhoids as he had said, cause I can have very hard painful bowel movements inbetween time and no bleeding, then at full moon I have diarrhea and bleeding. am I crazy? I had a total complete hysterectomy in 2006 but still bleed every full moon, only now rectally, I have been reading these post, I didn't find one that was bleeding rectally after having hysto, so I was just wondering if I am just crazy or is this part of the endo that is still there? my doc said he seen scaring on my bowel and bladder and "here and there" . he recommended a scope but i have read it wont show on a scope. so I don't know what to do next, I am disable, and many diagnosis with the recent one poly neurohy possible MS . thank you for taking time to listen.

I have stage4 endo and Im having problems with blood in my bowels. I have it when Im on my period and off. Its painful. My doctor told me that I have endo all over my bowels and thats why that happens. He wants me to have a colonoscopy. I just had my laparatomy and laparascopy done within a 2 month span and Im not quite ready for anothe surgery just yet. This endo has ruined my life! Let me know what happens and I hope it gets better for you.

i dont understand if your bowels were that bad why you need further treatment after a lap and lapartomy?? a colonoscopy is not painful i had one and it showed nothing, i went on to have a double bowel resection so im quite surprised they would be doing this after a laparotomy.

Ok my trouble has been recent, and recently got worse after surgery I started finding a lot of blood when I went to the loo, which started just before the last bleed I had (was on continuous pill, so no period, bleed was caused by my moving furniture around at home) Basically, it looked like a period. a lot of blood in the water, on the stools and some tarriness as well. These were accompanied by severe pain and started about 2 weeks before my surgery. I had no bleeding between movements, no blood in my underpants etc However just after my op, the bleeding continued and I also started passing clots from my back end. The first time, they were big, but now they are uniformly small. I have no bright red bleeding in the last few days, just the clots and tarriness, and blood comes away when I wipe. I feel bad for going into detail but I'm pretty worried. My doc didn't mention anything about the endo penetrating, just that it was all over the outside of my bowels. I have only had constipation once due to my reliance on tramadol for pain relief pre-op, and am usually absolutely fine with my bowels Just wondering if anyone is familiar with these symptoms? My doc suggested it was the constipation or the op, but the constipation happened one day a week after the bleeding started, and the op was 2 weeks after and just signalled the start of the clots. He doesn't seem worried but has referred me to a bowel specialist. No stool sample taken though. I've always been alert for bleeding with endo, but the amount of blood and the fact that I pass clots is actually scaring me

It wavers. I think either my ass is playing silly beggars, or it may have only just been for my pre op bleed and post op period. Cos now it's died down to just darkness and pinkness. The pain's also gone. I'm hoping it may have been just some nasty after effect from the op clearing up a start of bowel endo. I shouldn't be guessing I know but I'm eager to move on from the last months of endo-ness and my GP offers no opinion on it, while my gynae is not due to see me til November. so really the best I've got is you guys and your knowledge of this stuff

I haven't even had my appointment through yet ouchy, it's 2 weeks since I told my GP I may have the answer to the clots at least, I thought they were cyclical cos they settled after my period finished, but I got the letter today telling me what was done during the op. They had to work to free my rectum from my cervix, so it may be where that particular bleeding came from. The bleeding has been gone for 3 days so I'm breathing a tentative sigh of relief. Still gonna see the GI specialist cos I get extreme pain and the urge to vomit when I eat.
