Okay, so i put this in today. My doctor insisted that it's not going to help me at all, and that my endo is too bad for birth control pills to do anything, but i still wanted to try it. We'll see how it goes.

Hope it helps with some of the pain, at least!

Well, if anything, hopefully it will stop this period i'm on soon! I almost passed out walking home from the doctors and had to have my boyfriend come get me cause my periods make me really dizzy/sick. I'll be putting it in every three weeks so no periods!
Not sure if I can deal with any weight gain though...

Okay, so my period finally ended, and I guess it's my fifth day on this thing, and i have NO stabby pain!! I still feel sore, and pretty achy and my joints are really swollen and inflamed (doctor said i have a ton of inflammation inside and that's why all my groin lymph nodes are swollen), but noooo stabby pain all day! I really hope this is for real gonna help, and it's not just a weird no pain day! (with my luck it will start stabbing again after i post this!)
Also, i had horrible nausea the first two nights after i put it in, but i'm feeling fine now. My main problem is that i'm afraid to eat much cause i don't want it to make me gain weight :/
Also, it did start to give me a yeast infection, which i heard happens a lot with it, but i used my go to garlic remedy and it seems to have cleared up. I guess i will need to purchase some probiotics!

So I know this post has not been very active for a while but going to reply and see if i get a response..ok so my Dr has reccomended i go back on BC pills or the nuva ring. But well there is a huge part of me that do not want to be on any form of bc at the moment as i am going through the stage that I want to start preparing my body for children, I was on BC pills before for about 8 years but have been off them now for about 7 ...I remember when i came off the pill it took forever to get out of my system it felt and i was sick and stuff and my periods were messed up big time. I am fairly regular now but i have bad pain but the pain is always there so not sure any bc will help this constant pain. I also am not sure i want to take the pill but not sure i want to take the nuva ring either.. I am curious though how it works, i mean i know how it works and where it goes but i be freaked out that it would fall out or that it would get stuck lol.. You can use tampons while having it in though i read so that i good. Sex being pain free would be a bonus lol.. even though i am not currently with a special someone still be good. Which may also make people wonder why i would be hesitent to go on any BC if i am not with anyone as my main reason is i do not want it as want ot start preparing for children. Think i am just worried that this pain is going to cause more problems than i am prepared for. With that said i have had a fair amount of unprotected sex and never once got pregnant i have had two near scares years ago but they were false alarms and around the time i was coming off the pill and one many many years ago in my early sex life.lol. But it kinds worries me that when i think of the amount of stupid unprotected sex I have had and no pregnancy. Sorry if this is all over the place .... I write a lot and ramble. sorry for that!!!
I want this pain to be gone as it is unbearable..i am laid up on mu couch yet aain today in a heating pad trying to help ease the shooting and stabbing contraction like pain that i keep getting. But yet then i say i am hesitent to go on bc, but that is really my only form of possible treatment that i am hesitent on...ugh.

My thoughts - I don't tolerate most BC very well at all. Big fail. But, Nuvaring was the one I could tolerate the most. There's no chance of it getting lost - your cervix prevents it from going any higher - and the shape prevents it from falling out.
But, I should mention, some women that have pain ALL THE TIME do not respond to BC. My pain got really bad WHILE I was on nuvaring. (I eventually gave up on BC all together a few years ago.) That's not to imply if you went on the pill or nuvaring than you wouldn't get any better - everyone is totally different - but it's a possibility you have to be aware of.
What is best for you is completely up to you. If you don't want to go on the pill at all, you have that right. If you go on it conditionally - tell your doctor you'll try it for x months and if there's no relief, you're going to go off it and will be expecting other options - you have that right. And if you want to give it a shot for as long as your doctor recommends, that's up to you. Consider listing the pros and cons, including your hesitations, and see what makes the most sense for you.

Thanks Karen I need to give it some serious thought i think as I did try it again for a month back in October, i keep forgetting about that, and it did nothing but i guess it was only a month. But i did not like being on it and did not find it helpful so stopped. This is ALL THE TIME pain too yeah so i do not know if the pill or BC would help that. You got great advice and support thanks

I really like this idea. It's totally up to you what you decide. I think if you ask your doctor how long should you give it a try before deciding that it didn't work for you, then that could be a good time frame to try it out. You don't know what will help until you try it.

Thanks I missed my opportunity thiss month for BC as thought I had another week to decide and then got period early and should have started pill yesterday if I was going to start and yet to get scrip...so confused I may get it tomorrow and take two tomorrow and two the next day to catch up..but I really do not know if I want to be on BC pill. But again I should not be stubborn and just take it, as I already feel people don't believe how bad my pain is.

well after much thought, torment, debating, and grief I have decided to go back on BC for the first time in 7-8 years not happy about the decision but going to give it a try to see if it makes any difference in my pain. I discusses it with my Dr today suggested and she suggested that I try it for three months and see how that goes. I decided against the Nuvaring only mainly because I am not sure if i would feel safe walking around with it in lol. I be worried it fall out or i feel it, mind ya i feel a lot of pain there anyways so feeling the nuvaring would probably be no different. But for now will try the pill as that is going to be very short term. My Dr assured me that it will not increase the risk of further infertility with the endo so that helped. It is a difficult decision though as I am going through that phase where I am in my early 30's and most of my friends have children and are getting married and I am here single with no children. . And more so than marriage I want children, Thank god for my cat I say lol who may I add is very dependent and like a child. lol. Of course I may have something to do with her being spoiled But either way I have a few weeks to go before I start on the pill as have to wait for the most glorious period to come around again. I figure if i give the pill a try it will also avoid the gyn suggesting I try that before she does further testing I am curious of the nuvaring but just not sure howi feel about wearing it....If wearing hte nuva ring can you still use tampons? as sometimes throughout the month if i have spotting i will use a tampon and I thought i heard that the nuvaring comes out for your period so just wondered how that works with tampon use if you were to have spotting?? Do you get a new one every month?

Hello, I have been on Nuvaring for the past 2 years. While I love the ease of use I have to say that my periods have become much more unbearable since my start of the Nuvaring. It was this pain that helped me to find my diagnoses of Endo. My Gyn is extremely pushy that I stay on the Nuvaring no matter what. I switched initially because Ortho-Tricyclen was giving me such horrible nausea I could not stand to take it. ever since, I have asked to change my birth control (before an endo diagnosis was made) and my gyn all but begged me to keep it. I am not really sure of her reasoning but it made me uncomfortable. I tend to get a large amount of white discharge which is very embarrassing to me and a lot more brown bleeding before my periods (which that part I am thinking is all my endo's fault). I don't know if the nuvaring has provoked my endo or helped it yet. I guess we will see. I wish you the best of luck with it.
