We've had it mentioned here-and-there in quite a few threads, but not one particularly ON nuvaring, so it's good you started this thread! Tess was on it. Quite a few others have been on it, too. Hope you find the info you're looking for.

i was on it. I think it was the BC that triggered all my problems.... but then again i might be making that up in my head? I was easy to use, but i was paranoid about my boyfriend being able to feel it. I didnt have any discomfort with it, other than i blame my severe problems starting because of it. Good luck with it!! ;D

^You're not on bc pills right now, right? If not, you might get a work-up for PCOS. Irregular periods + an ovulatory cyst that just keeps growing sounds a lot like me. I had a 3cm one the one time I was checked for it due to irregular periods, etc.

Hi, I have used Nuvaring for years without any problems. It was the only bc that I could take that didn't make me feel nauseous. I did not have any endo pains or signs when I was on it, it surpresses your own hormone cycle just as any other bc. My endo problems started to emerge gradually as I stopped with the Nuvaring trying to conceive. Three months or so ago I was at a very low point as my endo was wicked and I had Pfeiffers disease at it's peak as well. I started back on the Nuvaring and it immediately killed my endo symptoms during the three weeks that it was in. The first period was hell though, probably a build up of surpressing one period when starting the ring and abandonning the entire diet *grin* My endo specialist told me that although the working agents in Nuvaring are two types of oestrogens, the level of oestrogen in your body when using the ring is many times lower then what your body would produce without any bc. You can use the Nuvaring as any other bc pill. I stopped using it again btw when the Pfeiffers disease got better as I still want to conceive.
My boyfriend feels the ring during sex so I used to take it out before penetration. My prior boyfriend didn't feel it btw and I just left it in. Sometimes I felt it myself as well and I just take it out. You can leave it out for 3 hours a day safely. If you forget to put it back, you do have a problem unless a pregnancy is not a problem. In the 5 years that I used the ring I totally forgot it only twice. Of which the second time resulted in my boyfriend realizing that he's ready for a baby... interesting turn of events ;-)
What else, the ring did cause me to have a little extra white flow in the days before my period was due. This always resolved itself with the period. I never took any medicin for it because it wasn't that disturbing.
Good luck with the ring! Just try it and find out how it works for you. I totally loved the fact that you don't have to take a pill every day. It is so much easier and has very low hormone release as well.

I was on Nuvaring for almost 5 years, I think. I loved it much better than the BC pills - I switched from pill to pill because my mood was horrible on them. Mood problems leveled out while on Nuvaring. As for using it to treat endo, I'm not sure. My symptoms came on strong just this last year while I was on BC (have been on some form of BC for 10 years). I had slight symptoms here and there through the years, but full force and every day since October. I only stopped using Nuvaring last month when I was switched to Mirena in an attempt to treat my symptoms. Figured that since they were there in full force while on Nuvaring, perhaps a change would be good. If Mirena doesn't work out, I'd certainly go back to the Nuvaring if needed.
The only thing I DIDN'T like about Nuvaring was that I think it caused more dryness than usual and I found I often had little tears after sex. I read around a bit and found that this was something other women have encountered as well. It wasn't unbearable, but noticeable. Oh, and I came out once during sex (it managed to end up on my partner like a ring!) but other than that, I never had any complaints from my partner about him noticing it. I could have taken it out for a bit if it were a problem - I think you can have it out for 2-3 hours?

I'm so glad this thread is here! I just had my post-op appointment and my doctor recommended the nuvaring to me. I've had some horrible experiences with BC pills which is why I'm weary of anything like this. He assured me that since it's not a pill that is digested I will not experience any of the nausea type side effects. Another problem I had with BC pills was the insane mood swings and irritability. I also gained weight which is another thing I'm afraid of. I'm tempted to try the nuvaring partly because I don't want the stupid endo to grow back and partly because I need the birth control. Needless to say, my husband and I have been doing the POP technique (Pull Out and Pray). My doctor said he loves the nuvaring and the success he has with it in treating endo and the satisfaction levels of his patients. If I end up trying it I'll keep you guys updated!

I have a prescription to go back on it if/when I start getting some action, but am trying the natural route in the meantime. For the most part, I liked it. I have several friends on it that love it, too. PM me if you have any questions!
