This was the best birth control for me too. I had to remove it every time for sex because I could feel that damn thing jamming into my cervix so it actually hurt to have it in there for sex. You can also wear tampons with it too. I really hope it gives you good results! I had zero endo symptoms while being on it.

I just put it in tonight. I'm barely bleeding so I figured what the heck. I'm going to try doing it for three weeks and then take it out for my period. If my periods get to awful I'll do the Nuvaring continuously if it works out.

So far so good on the Nuvaring. I've felt great the past week I've been on it. The boyfriend and I had sex for the first time with it and he didn't feel anything at all. I didn't either so I'm pretty happy about that. The best news is that sex didn't even hurt as much as it did when I was taking BC pills. I'm really hoping this continues.

Glad you're feeling so good, and glad it helped with the pain!
And I didn't mean to scare you by saying I got pregnant on the ring. Darfur is a REALLY unnatural place to try to keep a nuvaring cold. It's 120 degrees, and to get there you have board these horrible 50 year old Soviet planes operated by the UN in Khartoum (Sudan's capital) for a couple hour flight--or all day depending on where the plane stops first and where you're going. When you get where you're going, you have to first go and get all your paperwork stamped by various local government agencies. All in all, it can be 24 hours before you see a refrigerator again. And there's no power, so everything's run off a generator, so the refrigerator can be off for hours at a time, at any point....in any case, I think Darfur melted my ring and it's not really the ring's fault.

Thanks girls. I can't believe how different it was. Having sex without pain is almost foreign to me.
I know you didn't mean to scare me Kristin. I appreciate you sharing your experience. I can't believe you've been to Darfur. That had to a life changing experience. I've been keeping my extra ring in my fridge next to the yogurt haha.

Update: after switching to the nuvaring on continuous cycle, I've noticed that I start feeling nauseous on and off a little before & during my pseudo-period. I'd be curious to know if you experience the same thing!

Tried it, didn't help me. Not to say it wont help you. Also, not to worry you, but i got pregnant while using nuvaring, right after i was told i would be able to have kids too. I have 4 friends who were on it also (same time as me) and we all have kids around the same age give or take a few months. So personally, i don't trust it as a bc, and it didnt realy help my endo either. I now have impanon, not helping with endo, but i also haven't gotten pregnant while usuing it. So i guess it's a good/bad kinda thing.

When in doubt, use a condom!! lol. See the funny part is, and dont get me wrong we LOVE our daughter, we never planned on having kids together, but did feel kinda bad after we found out it wasnt an option anyways. we have an inside funny joke now. See the first time we "slept" together, was actually when i got pregnant, he asked if he should grab a condom, i said meh dont bother, i cant have kids anyways. so now he picks on me using the phrase dont bother haha. We do view her as a blessing from someone watching over us, who ever it is, i mean, cant have kids + birth control = kid? doesnt add up, but i sure like the results haha. i do know a couple girls, who dont have endo, and love nuva ring! i just warned them to watch for bad batches, because i do think they happen! (or the health department didnt keep those ones in the fridge lol)

I actually know a couple of people who got pregnant after birth control use, it made their very messed up hormones straighten out long enough to get knocked up. Isn't that wild??

Does anyone know if antibiotics interfere with the nuva ring like they do with oral contraceptives?
