This guy was pretty nice. I definitely don't feel as great about him as the other guy, but we'll see! He seemed kind of stressed out, but apparently he had JUST gotten home from getting married in korea. He gave me an awesome heating pad for my tummy, while the needles were in. It also didn't hurt at all, except for one spot on my hand, and one REALLY painful spot on my foot. He said those were both strong points that he doesn't usually use on a first time patient, but he thought it was needed in my case.
Anyway, he did seem to know about endo, and recommended that i stay away from estrogen containing foods, and caffeine. He also told me to start making seaweed soup and eating it daily, which i have no problem with, because i looove seaweed.
One thing i'm worried about, is that his style is korean five point acupuncture. Maybe i'm being silly, but I feel like i need a million more needles than that!! Five needles? My pain needs like, a zillion needles!!

haha, yeah, i'm gonna give it a chance. The first session didn't make me feel any different, but i've heard it takes a few sessions.

So, I've been afraid to post because I didn't want to jinx it, but I'm beginning to have a little bit of hope that the acupuncture is working. 3+ months into it, I just had the easiest last 5 days I've had in years--much less pain, much more energy. My last month in particular has been particularly rough, so have this little respite is SO nice.
the acupuncture has certainly changed my cycles a lot, bleeding patterns, etc, but had had no impact on the pain and REALLY exhausted me. It's still exhausting me, but has gotten better as I've gone on. the doctor has really tried to mitigate the effects of the treatment on me, "building me up" as much as possible.
It's just amazing to have this little bit of hope. This is now day 6 of much reduced pain. It's wonderful!

Oh man, i hope that means it's finally starting to really help you!!
My dude gave me way more needles today, a bunch in my belly and knees. I feel pretty good right now, but my pain is so random that it's hard for me to know if the acupuncture has anything to do with it :/

Oooh, Kristin, even 6 days of hope is well worth it if you ask me!! Even if it's not permanent or long lasting, it's a glimmer into what's to come. I'm so excited for you (though I won't jinx it)! And jtean, good luck!

Yeah, I'm incredibly happy. I thought I jinxed it yesterday because I had a bad several hours, but it was still different. I don't know how to describe this, because it doesn't make any sense, but it felt like the pain was an experience I was having, not something that ate up who I am. I felt like there was still some of me on the other side of the pain.
So I'm still really hopeful. My cycle is completely wacked out this time, so I don't really know where I am, but I'm not at my most painful times (ovulation, week before period, period). However, I'm generally in pain about all the time, so this break has been amazing.

well today was the end of my string of good/better days. Lord have mercy! But at least I have hope of getting back there again.

I just read through the last 7 pages of posts, and was wondering: Do y'all think it's weird that my daughter's first appt with our new acupuncturist resulted in...NO ACUPUNCTURE? She said she didn't think acupuncture would help at this point, and gave her two weeks worth of her herbs to take twice a day. This lady has treated others with endo, so I'm kinda wondering why she said that.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Many acupuncturists specialize in herbs, too. That doesn't sound weird to me at all; there's a lot herbs can do in conjunction with acupuncture!

I just had a 28 day cycle, ovulating on day 14. I'm pretty proud of myself! and pretty amazed at the acupuncture.
hopefully now it will start to do something about the pain. Those days were great, but since last Thurs it's been horrible.

Holy sh*t, quite a difference! Does that mean your period started today? Does that explain the pain yesterday?

yep: period started today. I knew it was imminent, with all the pain since last Thurs. Plus I was bleeding regularly every time I pooped, for the last 5 days or so. I don't know if all that pain yesterday was some of the implants bleeding in the intestines? it was so horrible.
The oddest thing is my temp is still high--acupuncture seems to have raised my temps from the mid 96s/mid 97s to mid 97s/mid 98s.
