Thanks girls! Also forgot to mention my BM's lol! They are brilliant, no bleeding, no pain (before it was pain just before, during and just after) and I go about three times a day as opposed to once every three days or fifteen times a day!! I am really aware that I still have bladder endo and that they weren't able to look into any other areas, and that I do need more surgery, but I am really making the most of this time

Long time no post Sorry, I have been here, just not here here, if that makes sense! So, brief update: I had my surgery on 1st Feb this year. I've since learnt what was done during the lap which is interesting (some of this you have heard before); they excised the nodule that was under my cervix and pressing into my bowel successfully - this was the source of a lot of pain and much discomfort as well as the rectal bleeding. My right ovary was stuck to my kidney (the doc said I was lucky to have no damage to the kidney) and there were many adhesions attached my bowel, ovaries, bladder etc. They also had to excise the endo from the pelvic cavity as this was incredibly extensive - my endo nurse said that the endo had gone into the general surgery region, I think that means out of the area a gynae doc would usually deal with. The bruising and swelling was all on the right side and started about 3 inches above my belly button, all the way around to my butt cheek and down my right leg about half way (my boyf laughed at me a few days after surgery when he was helping me dress as the right side of my foof had swelled up!!!) So, 8 months later and I feel pretty good the majority of the time! I am on BC having a break every few months and still taking vitamins. Things that haven't changed - intercourse is still painful (although orgasms aren't thank all the gods!!), and I still get pain down the backs of my legs which can get very uncomfortable. I still get a lot of discomfort with my bladder including frequent infections, although they didn't have time to look at my bladder during surgery and they think the endo has grown through. I have no rectal bleeding or vaginal bleeding when I'm not supposed to and any pain I do have can be managed with heat and basic painkillers like paracetamol and ibuprofen. I'm aware that I'm very lucky as the endo nurse did say if I had waited a few more months for the surgery it would have been very likely a colostomy bag would have been needed, so I'm glad I made that complaint! I have fallen off the endo diet wagon and am eating wheat - whilst I don't get a lot of pain from this I do get pain from it and know that it will have to be eliminated again at some point. I'm vegetarian and am considering going vegan in the near future (boyf and I want to do it together to make it easier) so that would cut out all dairy. I'm on the waiting list for another lap where I have been told they will concentrate on my bladder and look at my uterous and ovaries (in a similar fashion I had to fight for this as well ) In the last few months I have tried to cram as much living in as humanly possible to make up for all the time lost lying around in agony!! I've been to gigs, two festivals, started learning sign language, slowly but surely doing the house up, got a tattoo, made lots of new friends, oh, and got engaged last Wednesday So that's it I think for now, I'll try and catch up with everybody individually on your threads and meet some of the new girls xx

Gem you sound great, and good for you for going so gungho on things. I am so sorry you've had to continue to struggle to get another lap, when it is so clearly needed. Hope something comes through soon. Enjoy engagement and congratulations to you both!
