I got a new car today! It was my dad's - only a year old but it has a lot of miles on it so he wanted to trade up, and I bought his car. Was looking at the exact same model only new before we made a deal so I can't complain. Just brought it home today.

Congrats! I was going to post excitedly that I had new bicycle tires, but a car definitely one-ups me there...

You guys should meet up and drag race the new car vs new wheels! New wheels in any form are fun

I'm on, Karen! Do you reckon somewhere in Ohio is a good halfway point to meet?

Rust-this one's for you! I managed to bike probably 8 miles today to meet up with my husband on his last long run before his marathon next weekend. I'm excited because I haven't really ridden much in the last, oh say 15 years, and have been a bit afraid to do it!! This is great because I can meet up with him on the route here and there. Btw, hills are hard and I wish I had a road bike instead off a mtn/off road

Hooray!!! I love biking. Good for you for getting back on one after 15 years.
And yes, hills are hard. If you want a quick fix to make the mtn bike easier, you can put slick tires on--much less resistance. The continental city ride 26" x 1.75 is a great slick tire for mtn bikes, and very affordable. My husband and I have both put thousands of miles on those tires.
I hope you enjoyed it, despite hte hills? What marathon is your husband running?

Cool. Thanks for the advice, not sure I do enough biking to merit new tires yet but that does sound good. My sister would love me to do a triathlon and I could probably borrow a road bike (I totally can't do clips though, agh!). The hub is doing the Smuttynose Rockfest up in this area, wish I was doing it too but I'll do it some day!
