We have some threads for the rants of the day. Let's start one for the little 'good news' things you have to share!

Ok, here's my contribution. I work in construction, commercial projects. The economy is getting better, but it's still quite shaky for construction. We're in the process of wrapping up some big projects at work and people were starting to get antsy because we didn't have anything else big lined up. Since I got laid off my last construction job, I was quite nervous... Well, between Tuesday night and Wednesday, we were awarded two really really big jobs that'll span about 4 years. Feel so much more secure about my job!

I'm super excited because I leave tomorrow for the Breeder's Cup!!! I'm actually going for work so it's doubly sweet that I'm going for free with awesome seats
For anyone that doesn't know what it is, it's basically the super bowl of horse racing. There's an awesome mare, Zenyatta, that is going for a world record of 20 undefeated starts. She'll go down in history as possibly the greatest horse of all time, and I just might be there to witness it!!!

I think my company are going to pay for me to do another degree. Really excited about getting back to study!

Hubby got a raise. Granted his boss is being audited and I think is just throwing money around. But hey, with this economy, and everyone out of work, my man is rockin it! go, baby, go!

The band I just joined five months ago, we are doing our first gig tonight at a rock bar in Portland!!!!! I'm so nervous and excited!!!

;D I survived my orientation at work which means I get my per diem raise of 13%. I got my paycheck for my night and evening shifts I did for orientation and I found out that I get extra for evening shift, even more for night shift and even more for weekend night or evening shifts... the good news! I work every weekend this month either evening shift or night shift. I LOVE my job. Its so incredible that I got it, I'm still in shock and to find out there is all these extra "perks" is even better. yeah! I like good news thread... sometimes when I'm looking at all the "oh sh*t" news its a little depressing. Everyone knows its helpful to our health to focus on the positive things... Good thinking Karen!

Jacob got 4 A's and a B on his report card. Not to bad for a 5th grader in junior high~ He is a smarty~

I was supposed to work today and we are on low census!! YEAH! It means I get some extra time with my family and the hubby on our anniversary, 12 years today...

My Mom is coming to visit tomorrow for a few days and I can't wait. My appointment with the gastronologist got moved up to this Wednesday so I'm happy about that as well.

I saw an eligible man at the gym today. It really doesn't take much to please me.

;D I had a good day... I got to teach a room full of 6-10 year olds Christmas music, had a nice chat the last hour of co op with a new lady and then we had drama and music this afternoon, an awesome dinner by my hubby. And this evening I got to work with the adults who are involved with our drama and got a nice compliment for taking the time to help. (always good) Its nice to have days where things go right!! ;D

I FINALLY got into the endocrinology class that I've been wanting for the last few semesters. I finally have enough credits to have priority registration in the cool classes. FINALLY stuff relevant to my major! FINALLY!!
