Ha, yes, sex does wonders! And good for you for being scolded for smiling. You deserve to be happy, hun!

Thanks Karen, I wish I could share the wealth! Give me the littlest grace and I'm smiling and away with the fairies. Things still aren't going very well overall and I have a few huge things hanging over my head, but this past week I've been given back the little gift of hope through bits of good news here and there. Someone finally let that little gossamer winged insect out of my pandora's box of a life

Aw, such a good analogy!
So an old neighbor was in town today and she called me to see if we could meet for dinner. I was in our other office today and spent 3+ hours in the car so I was wiped out by the time we met up, but she's a good friend and she has had some health issues of her own and she's a good support. I told her how incredibly frustrated I was about my current issues and that I just wanted to get to the bottom of it. I told her my plan to see an endocrinologist, but also that I was worried someone else would dismiss me. She offered to come to that appointment with me! The woman lives 1.5 hours away, but because she's been as frustrated and just plain exhausted as I am at the moment, she offered. I was fighting back tears, I was so freaking happy! She's a pushy woman, too, so I know she won't let a new doc try to walk all over me!

I know, I tell you, I'm really picky about who I make friends with, but the ones that I pick as my tried and true friends are always there for me no matter what, and I completely love them to pieces!

She sounds like a great person to have on side and a great friend to talk to too, I'm really glad she's going with you, I wish you could get answers faster.

Thanks, Keri, I know you girls would do the same for me if you were closer, and I hope you know I'd do the same!!
My good news for the day - I finally got a laptop for work. Brought it home this weekend and got it hooked up to our building's wireless connection (took me a while... had the network connection button turned off and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working). The good news is that I FINALLY browse at home QUICKLY! My desktop is so dang old - it locks up on every type of website imaginable... I'm due for a new one, but the work one will tide me over for now. Yay!!!

Me too, but I got myself showered this morning (amazing how you take such small things for granted), was going to the loo by myself, and all I need now is rest and sleep which I'll get much easier and better at home. If it wasn't for the lovely nurse chasing things up today I wouldn't have got out, so I'm greatful for that. Good to be back!

Sounds like you've had some nice staff around, can't beat a great nurse they make all the difference during a hospital stay! How long do you expect to stay off? Try not to worry about work, your health is your wealth as they stay. Hey maybe the place will run a little better with having to cope in your absence Plenty of time to paint your nails

Well, recovery is up to 6 weeks. I can't legally drive for 4 (and I tend to stick to the rules!). Apparently a 'fit' note as they're now known, would allow me enough time off to heal, and then do a phased return to work which wouold allow the me flexibility of taking the time I need, going in when I feel ok and staying off when I don't without the worry of being in then off meaning several different 'absences'. Yay! Will be aiming to be back at work physically (at least in fits and bursts) within 2 weeks but I'll know I'll have me laptop out by the end of the week!
