i knew that it had penetrated the bowel wall as my surgeons started my sirgery with a laparoscopy and they realised that it had penetrated the bowel wall and had to open me up and perform a laparotomy in a 6 hour surgery that focussed mainly on my bowels. it was the most they had removed (40cm) for endo so it was a bit chocking waking up to that news. they also removed my appendix and some other areas. i think i posted somwhere on here about all my symptoms that i suffered over the years that were primarily associated with GI issues and bowel movements... loads of pain after eating., extremely painful to go to the bathroom... PM me if you would like to chat further! am at work now so my ind is elsewhere have a report due now and i have spent the enitre afternoon in the toilet im so stressed!

I've been seeing conflicting info on raspberry leaf tea. Some web sites say women with endo should stay clear of it and some sites say it's benefitial. Anyone have any experience with it?

Some of you have mentioned cutting foods out to see if they are a problem? How does one do this. I have read different things on sites saying 1 week, 1 month... any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, to do it properly you really need to cut out all possible culprits first and slowly add things back in one at a time.
I did a proper elimination diet as a teenager, through a specialist. It was 6weeks cutting out all possible allergens, then groups were added every 2 weeks.
If you suspect a food group, you could just cut out and see what happens. Some groups will get quicker reactions than others. Cutting out sugar you should notice within a few weeks if thats helping. Gluten needs to be cut out for 3months to truly test it, and thats from a bowel specialist i was told that about the gluten.
So you could cut out one group at a time to make it easier, but i think with most groups id allow a month to see if there is a difference, but there has to be 3months for gluten. With gluten its all or none, you have to eliminate all hidden gluten as well, so read all labels. If its just wheat and not gluten your testing its not as strict.

I am the same way with ice cream. I love to have it in the summer but within a few minutes I end up with terrible pains.

My wife had to cut out bread years ago but only just diagnosed with Endo so we now know why. She has been on the Endo diet around 3 weeks now and these gas problems with pain have completely gone. At times she was still getting a little constipated until I added kiwifruit to her breakfast fruit salad. She still has chicken or fish every meal but all no no's from the endo ebook are out of her diet and these symptoms described have gone.
I definitely recommend Kiwifruit (1-2 a day) to keep constipation at bay with Endo (My wife feels great when she has it)
