Oh I don't want to tell what my embarassing little habit is, but how do you explain to old school raised family members on your husband's side why you have to refuse the food that they are offering you. In Guatemala you just don't refuse any food that they offer when you visit them (it's just the biggest way that you could offend them), and they have never heard of endo or what endo puts you throught. Sometimes it's scary because you just don't know when / where / or what foods will make you sick and where you will be when they make you sick.

I find eating too much of anything is a bad thing for me. Especially breads and sweet things. But anything sets me off if I have it, say, more than twice a week. Sucks to be me though, because when i get a craving, it's pretty much all I want so I don't know whats worse, wanting the food i shouldn't have or eating it. ;D I live on imodium at work.

Hi, denna! Yah. Unfortunately, ice cream is a "no-no" for me, too! And i LOVE ice cream!!! I think it is because there is soooooooo much sugar. I have found that I can eat a normal (well, normal for regular people...not super-sized like what i prefer) serving of ice cream by Dryers. It is sugar-free and fat-free or something like that. I think it may even be sweetened w/ splenda...which is actually derived from sugar, so I don't see how that would be sugar-free... anyway, it doesn't get my tummy upset!

for many years i was told i was a cealiac and lactose intolerant despite tests being negative (go figure) becasue i had all those reactions to dairy and wheat products. i would sit in pain and someimes even end up in he ER at the hospital on morphiene witht the pain. i was diagnosed with endo of the bowel last month and apparently this is why i have had alot of these symptoms...

for many years i was told i was a cealiac. My gastrointerologist ordered a blood test for celiac disease for me. Turned up negative. After doing a sigmoidoscopy he sent me back to my gynecologist...the G.I.'s opinon...endo...surprise...

i agree with most of those but also mangos (though i used to eat and drink it lots) this makes me throw up immediatly now , once after eating nandos right outside in a plastic bag someone gave me quickly - oops!! And rice crispies with soya milk , this one i found out recently not sure if its the rice crispies or soya milk but swapped to goats milk in my tea now just in case.

Hey Louise, i used to live in birmingham we could have gone out together and been teetotal n finicky !! I hear what your saying, i hate going out for a bite to eat with people i don't know that well, i was never a fussy eater and feel people think its all in my head and that i am on some fad diet. Having said that , people should be more understanding and if they aren't then it speaks volumes about their character so don't let it bother you too much.

Chamomile is closely related to ragweed, and can cause similar allergic reactions in susceptible individuals. That might be why you have issues with it.

I know alot of you ladies have IBS but have you also been tested for acid reflux disease? I have it and I really have to watch what i eat. Anything spicy is a BIG no no for me, and anything acidic. I get wicked heart burn and crazy stomach pains. I was prescribed a new medication and it has really helped.

I get the same symptoms as all of you. To the point of now, i try not to go out for dinner that much if i know we're going out somewhere afterwards. Just incase i need to do a dash to the bathroom. I usually organise something to eat at home and say - "i'll just meet you out afterwards". Bit sad really. But as you all would know the embarrassment of having to explain to a bunch of people 'where you've been for the last 15 mins'. If i can't get out of it, i'll try and get something bland to eat that i know, won't set me off. But, with this disease its hard to tell sometimes because one week i'll be fine with something, then the next it will set off. Guess its all just trial and error and chatting with people that have the same.
