Coffee gets me. Anything pork that is NOT cured will get me. I am ok with Bacon or ham (they are cured) but certain other types like sausage or pork ribs... my mom sometimes makes a pork roast or picnic, pork chops. If i eat any pork that is NOT cured, I will have severe diaharrea and severe vomiting all night long.Violent even. I hate how I have to bow out of meals on certain items because how sick i get afterwards and folks just dont understand.

Ive discovered since my surgery that i do get pain from certain foods, and if i avoid them i do alot better.
My no no's so far are:
- Red meat - Dairy (i can get away with a tiny amount in coffee, but thats it, and its lactose free, working on phasing that out) - Coffee (water decafinated is ok, and i buy an organic brand)
Things that arent great, but i can get away with:
- Eggs occasionally (im not certain eggs are a prob, but just in case, i dont eat them too often at this point until i can be sure there ok) - Tiny amount of parmesan and goats feta (very rarely) - Fatty foods (i can eat frozen foods that are a bit fatty, but anything heavily greasy makes me feel nauseas) - Sugary drinks (occasionally, i can get away with a glass of coke with no ill effects, but it doesnt help me to do this often)
Foods i think help me:
- Lots of fruit - avacadoes, nuts - coconut milk - Chillis - tea is soothing (ive cut back the caffeine by soaking my teabag for 20secs in boiling water, tipping that water out, and making the tea with that bag) Green can relieve any digestive discomfort from eating something fatty.
Ive also been gluten free a while, and havent tested if it causes probs, oats are fine but, i started eating them again. All i know is i improved alot by cutting out gluten.

this is depressing. I so want to go make a pan of brownies right now and just eat the whole pan. ha ha ha. Reading this I have realized that I can basically eat soup, salad, tuna, and chili. The sad thing is that my family owns a beef farm and I eat beef a lot during the week. I eat chicken and pork too. But mostly it is beef. I like mexican food too. And pizza. I don't usually have any problems from anything I eat except sesame seeds. Those don't agree with me at all! I cut out McDonalds out of my diet for about a year up until recently. I gave in and had a big mac. I know bad bad bad!! I promise I'll do better. I better if my triglycerides are elevated. the rest of my cholesterol panel is beyond good. better than good. they were just up a little. But I will do better.

Dont get too depressed about it, just do your best to eat healthy even if you dont want to go on the diet, it will still make a diff.
Its not all bad anyway, i bought some tasty gluten free biscuits from the health food shop today, and man are they good, just have to be controlled now and let the pack last a little bit. Still has sugar, and it uses some soy, but still a mile better than the gluten free biscuits i get from the grocery store in taste and in health.
I just try and do the lesser evil thing if i really want a treat, id go crazy otherwise, and even doing the odd thing wrong the diet still works.

i only excluded foods before my surgery as certain foods worsened my condition. caffiene and intestinal endo do NOT mix! nor does anything dairy. now im on a gluten, dairy and partially sugar free diet because oh the side effects from surgery. You dont have to be obsessive compulsive about it but do what works for you.

I was diagnosed with IBS many years ago. Recently, I went on a gluten/wheat free diet and found great relief!! ;D I still have the constipation and gas problems but only when it is period time or ovulation time. Maybe endo and gluten intolerance are related?? or affect one another?

Thats an interesting theory, it is strange that so many women with endo respond so well to cutting it out.
What i find odd is as a teenager i did an elimination diet, and wheat was not a problem, yet now its made a massive diff cutting it out, and im super sensitive to the slightest gluten exposure.

I do notice a difference the morning after I drink. It was martini night last night at our house. We'll have to rethink that next time. Ha ha! I am curious to know what everyone does as far as exercise to help with things though. Are there certain exercises that seem to help more than others? Or certain stretches? Thanks for the support.

Actually noticed that exercise thread isnt purely which exercises are beneficial, worth a read but.
Maybe we need to start a thread just posting what people find beneficial.

Can endometriosis grown on the inside of your intestines/bowel/organs? I thought it was just on the outside of the organs in the stomach? I had wondered if it could go inside as well - perhaps that is what is causing my digestion trouble?? I have a GI appt in April, so I was going to ask then. MY gyn didn't discuss that at all. Thanks. sounds exactly like me!!! They even thought it was gall bladder attacks, because it is so much worse when I eat anything fatty, so I had all those tests, but my gallbladder was functioning at 66%, so it wasn't the problem. I have had endo removed from my bowels twice now, and my gastrointerologist did a sigmoidoscopy...i got scoped ! eeek! but he didn't find any endometriosis on the inside, and no polyps to promote all the diarrhea, so back to the gyne. He said that even with the endo removed, once the prostaglandins (cause pain) reach a certain level, inflammation everywhere is the result, which can create something like IBS. I dont' know. It's terribly complicated. I just know that I have had the most relief by cutting out fatty and spicy foods and by taking psyllium husk every day. It's fiber and soothes the intestines. I think it is the best! I believe it is the same thing in Metamucil, but I buy mine in a big bag at a health food store.

It can penetrate organs and tissues. Cass, one of our members, had 40cm of her intestines removed due to penetration.

How did they find out it did that? What tests were done? Also, what compaints did you have prior to finding out that is what it was. I have severe bloating and discomfort after eating (pretty much any meal), minor to major levels of discomfort between meals (probably still digesting), nausea - that sometimes ends in vomiting just to make that feeling go away. I can't say gas is really a factor, maybe sometimes. I had some GI specialist testing done about 3 1/2 years ago - before I knew I had endo though - so maybe they never looked for that? I had an upper endoscopy, ultrasounds, ct scan, some test where you drink something and lay on a table and they move that table in all positions to see how the drink flows through your system, no colonoscopy though. I kept getting told each test came back perfectly normal. So I started to feel like it was in my head and I just stopped going to see that doc. Thank you! Sure did!!! endo had penetrated my bowel wall and created huge nodules of endo everywhere. and stuck things together.
