hi..
i've done reasearch on caffiene in tea during uni time and it contain the same amount of caffiene as in coffee..i'm not very sure but may be there's some other ingredient that contributed that.let me try if it work for me. i do drink both, morning coffee and tea of tea time- hubby is a perfectionist hahaha, i understand it's very hard to swith to tea if you love coffee very much.i'm trying my best now to drink less coffee- i only drink half the glass and gradually swith to cocoa-milo ( milo is a brand)

I am finding it very very hard to cut out coffee but it doesn't seem to bother my stomach too much. Actually since I have been trying to cut it out it has made me want to drink more ! For me its bread that really bothers me and that still is very hard to cut out!

hi Hillary,
I understand what you meant with the coffee stuff. i'll still drink, sometime i just took a sip when i made one cup for hubby..hehe
my biggest problem is hot and spicy stuff. ever since i was a teenager i like to eat hot and spicy food. i love chilli and i'm sure this not very bad to my endo.i have just read the list of food i should avoid from this webpage and read it out to hubby. i think i have to cut almost 90% of the food i use to take and he has to follow- poor him. we have started to change our diet, may be just 20 % but we will take it slowly.
i love bread too, it's a substutite to rice for me. how about whole meal bread? does it have wheat? i'm taking cereal for breafast but still it contain wheat.i'm not very sure if i can et rid of wheat totally.
just found out today that i can eat rice noodle- i love noodles.

OOOH, hillary, you should try rice stick noodles. They are sooo thin and transparent, and they cook in like one minute! I know this has nothing to do w/ tea and coffee, but I had to tell you about them, since you want to try rice pasta!!!

i have given up coffee for two weeks, and I find i have so much more energy, my stomach feels better, and I am doing OK. I miss the creamy rich warm drink in the morning, but I am amking do. I have also tried Yerba Mate, which makes me very energized but is supposed to be super good for you...
And Teecino is the best coffee substitute I have found in the market. You can make lattes out of it, its rich and strong and good for digestion

I'm lactose-intolerent, so I usually get black coffee. However, I notice that about half an hour after I start drinking coffee (even without cream or milk), I find myself running to the bathroom with diarrhea. Does anyone else experience this? Or does coffee just cause a stomach ache?
(I don't tend to have any problems with soda, which is good because I need my caffeine or I get migraines!)

Hi. I have tried caffiene free tea but I end up with headaches. Has anyone else found the same problem?

yeah, certain teas give me headaches as well. It could be the detoxing of caffeine, or the tea might be the wrong kind for you...I stick to orgnaic teas, like lemon/ginger, pau d'arco, stomach teas with licorice and fennel as well as detox teas.

I was just given a new tea by a coworker and wanted to share with you gals - its called "Mount of Olives Treasures" and I am drinking "Bethlehem berry". It is a blend of white tea, green tea and berries: I have PMS right now and I find that tea is a tremendous help. This one is making me feel quite good. I also love "Traditional Medicinals, women's toner". It helps with irritability and mild cramping. I drink coffee in the morning. I just try to limit myself to one cup, sometimes two. and I never drink it past noon. (I won't sleep and I drive my boyfriend crazy) thats my two cents on this old thread

Ive been fortunate not to have symptoms of IBS, i feel for you ladies that do. So, no diarrhoea from diet. However, i have found that Coffee, while it doesnt increase my pain, i do believe my nausea is a little worse after coffee, though im not sure if its the milk in it or the coffee itself. I do however find tea soothing, i was always a coffee drinker but now find myself steering clear of it and enjoying tea. I only drink black or green (low caffeine, no tannins), but it is very soothing and settles my nausea greatly. I also, to avoid caffeine but still have a drink, make my own version of chai or yogi tea. Has anyone else found this tea beneficial? I find the mixture actually provides a certain amount of pain relief, and is useful to drink while i cook to keep me standing up for the 20mins i need to. I make it with ginger, cardamon pods, black pepper corns, and cinnamin. Boil it up with water and store the mix in the fridge, keeps for ages if u add a little honey to the mix. I serve it with warm soy milk, honey, and a sprinkling of nutmeg. I unfortunately now have discovered the soy milk may be doing me harm , not wanting to take the risk it is, in future, im going to make it with rice milk. Does anyone else have any tea recipes with spices they find beneficial? I would be very interested, often a warm drink is my only comfort, as i am stubborn about pain relief and only take it in absolute need.

I am blooming awful about coffee, even though I read carreine is no good for endo sufferers I can't stop drinking those caramel macchiatos from starbucks (we have a starbucks at my new job) but from tomorrow I'm taking in camomile teabags, honey and slices of lemon and slices of ginger. By comparison, the camomile concoction is just as addictive for me, minus the buzz and tender abdomen I get with coffee and cola. Plus they are opposite, the camomile is detoxing and all natural, and it only costs me 10p for a cup of hot water from the coffee shop whereas a tall macchiato is £1.78 (around $3.50) The macchiato is full of sugar, makes me nuts and well... other stuff! Anything to talk myself out of drinking it! xx

Posted by member laineybugger in another thread. _____________________________________________________ I have read in more than one endo book that coffee is bad for us. I don't know why exactly. I have cut back but I just love my coffee! I am down from 4-5 to just 1 coffee drink a day. I am trying to justify it to myself because it's my comfort food and I look forward to it every day. It is a blended/iced drink called a Polar Bean and is made with: 8oz brewed iced coffee, 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup, 1 tablespoon of caramel syrup, and ice all blended up. I skip the whipped cream and extra chocolate on top.
