Hi Ladies, I was just wondering if anyone else experiences water retention along with their endo? I know most women get "bloated" around the time their periods start, but I am talking SWOLLEN ankles, feet, and hands. My ankles get so swollen about a week before my period that the blood vessels break and leave me with these beautiful purple ankles.....just wondering if anyone else had this, or if it is just me. Hey on this post, is water retention in the ankles really the same thing as bloating in the guts? seems to me like a separate issue.

I got dressed for work today and my pants barely fit. Ugh. Things aren't right.

Sorry Karen. Strecth pants and a flowing dress can be our best friends in the spring with a swollen belly. I am wishing it away for you.

Things still aren't right. I'm bloated beyond belief and have had to wear my really fat pants this week. I've had some different pain this week, mostly dull with a few stabs. The only thing I've changed with my routine is a lower dose of progesterone, though I bumped it up last week. Bleh. I hope to gawwwwwwwd it's just my period on it's way. I want the bloat to go buh-bye!

Karen is it on your right side honey? Gosh bloating and pain like that bring me thinking of my galbladder. I always worry about you girls and if it could be that and a doc has just not caught it. I hope this goes away for you.

Nope, its more uterus throbbing and adhesions tugging. I've never had any reason to suspect gallbladder (yet).

Funny, ever since I started taking Nexium a lot of my stomach issues are going away. I don't look pregnant after every meal anymore and I'm not doubled over with chest pain all the time. ANDddd I actually wake up hungry instead of puking! I haven't had to take zofran since I have been taking nexium. I swear it has been a miracle drug. I had no idea that ulcers could screw you up like that. I don't miss that stomach bloating!

Glad to hear you're feeling better Jenaya! I agree on the GERD acid thing, it really messes a person up though you were a little worse off but still. I just finished 2 weeks of the acid reducer.....I am hungry again as well and eating! So happy!

okay, I'm pretty sure I did this to myself. I just couldnt resist the cookie dough that was left from yesterdays cookie baking bing. I've been smarter lately and making sure it was cooked and restricting my cookie intake I just couldn't keep myself busy enough today and so now my tummy is bloated and angry and I'm pretty sure Its all my fault. D@mn my mad baking skills!

I went shopping yesterday and tried on some pants. In the dressing room, they had 2 mirrors set up so you could see your backside. I caught sight of mine and was crushed... All the weight I lost last summer/fall appears to have stuck itself right back on my butt/thighs. They just feel swollen and bloated, and my tummy feels the same. I freaking KNOW my hormones are jacked up again... It looks disgusting. I feel disgusting.

I hear ya! Me too. I think I need to start taking the diuretics again more regularly until I get a proper handle on the hormones. It makes me feel like sh*t. Why the hell do we have to go through this??

OMG I hate dressing rooms! I'm sorry Karen I've gained some of my last year's weight back too. Helen, I don't get why we have to go through this either. It's such a load of crap.

I am incredibly uncomfortable. Assuming my cycle is on track, I'm due for my period on Thursday. It's either that or the supplements I'm on. I know in the past it's taken me a good week or so for my body to get used to supplements and I've bloated up like this before so I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I have gained 6 pounds in 2 days, and I know it's ALL water weight... I got dressed (took me a few tries to find grungy shorts to wear around the house that fit) and was absolutely disgusted by myself in the mirror.
In order to (hopefully) force my period and get this over with, I'm going to stop taking my progesterone pills on day 28, which is Wednesday, and see if my period follows. Ugh, I hope so!

Can you stop them day 26 or 27? So you get it on day 28? Have you by any chance been eating a bit more salt lately? My legs bloated up bad on Friday, after having a fair bit of salt that day.

Yeah, I could stop a day or two early, might try that. Last time I stopped mid month because I was out of pills and couldn't pick them up in time, I got it by noon the next day!
My salt intake has been a bit up and down, but not this bad... It's really, really bad at the moment.
