Hi ladies! Thanks for all the well wishes ;D Surgery went REALLY well. The entire hospital staff was just amazing, and Dr. Sinervo was such a pleasure to work with. He held my hand the entire way to the OR and then prayed over me right before they put me under. Sooooo glad I decided to have surgery again. In a little over a year, the endo has completely encapsulated my bladder, cul-de-sac, back of uterus, various spots on my bowel as well as tying my left ovary and tube to my bowel. I also had a huge cyst on my right ovary. Because my left tube was adhered to my bowel, it was completely blocked! It just blows my mind that all of this can be in there in a little over a year. I got a little nausous post-op, but they gave me lovely anti-nausea medication in my IV and within a half-hour I was feeling pretty good! Managed to get some saltines down with a good amount of water. I was supposed to stay in the hospital overnight, but felt well enough that they let me leave around 9 pm last night. I actually made it through the night with only two aleve. The worst part of it so far is the gas pain. I didn't have it last surgery, but holy hell do I have it now! It is BEYOND uncomfortable but is starting to subside thank god. I'm also coughing up a little bit of blood from the trachea tube I guess. My tummy's not too bad...obviously really, really sore, but not unbearable. They've kept me in a belly band and that has helped tremendously! Who knew? Other than that, I'm doing pretty well post-op! Doc thinks I have a great chance of conceiving now since my tubes are not blocked anymore. I hope some of my bowel symptoms will subside too since he cut out all he could see on them. I have my post-op appointment tomorrow at 11:30 and then hope to drive back to Florida if everything is OK! And, I thought I should mention, I hijacked some hair-net panties!!! LOL

Glad you had such a good experience! And so glad you KNOW what's going on with your insides and that they were able to deal with it. Yay for you!
Wishing you a speedy recovery and a safe trip home in your comfy undies!

Hi Gals, just wanted to let you all know that I'm at home resting up nicely. My mother drove up from South Florida and is here taking care of me (thank god!). My husband is trying his best, but there's nothing like your mom! It's day five post-op and I'm doing pretty good. Finally just went to the bathroom with some help, and it was just awful. My intestines are SO SORE from being messed with, I can literally feel everything moving through them, TMI sorry. I can def relate with you Cass! My post-op appt went well. He went over all the pictures with me...I really couldn't believe how bad it got so quick. Thank heavens I decided on surgery, I was on my way to a bowel blockage if I would've waited any longer. I was really shocked to see how much was covering my bowel. And not only was my left ovary and tube adhered to my bowel, but then that portion of my bowel was also adhered to my pelvic sidewall. I also had implants covering my sigmoid (I think you had that too, Ouchy). Anyway, I feel blessed that my gut (no pun intended!) told me to go up there for surgery. I was truly in the best hands. I recommend them to ANYONE for surgery. They were just amazing. And thank you girls for your continued support! You guys are awesome

Well, I figured I'd start up this thread again for surgery #3. It's not at the CEC this time, but at Celebration Hospital in Orlando with Dr. Arnold Advincula. I'm headed for excision again, with removal of both uterosacral ligaments and possible removal of my left ovary. My L ovary is a constant source of grief, blowing off cysts about every other month and glueing itself to other body parts, so frankly, I'm over it. I'm not really nervous this go around, I'm just anxious to get it over with. Sex is completely unbearable now and I'm doubled over in pain every morning until I go to the bathroom. It wakes me up in the middle of the night, and I'm not comfortable sitting or lying down. I'm just completely over it and need some relief, even if it is only for a few months. I guess this go around he's putting me on a 6 month stint of Femara (kinda sorta works like Lupron, but it's a daily pill) on top of a progestin-only pill. I'm not big into synthetic hormone therapy at all, but I need to something as everything I've done up to this point has done nothing and I'm back to square one less than two years later, AGAIN. Pre-op is the 11th, bowel prep is the 12th, and surgery is the 13th at noon. The hospital is two hours from my house, so I'll most likely stay overnight and go home on Thursday if all is ok. Mom is coming up again through the weekend to cook meals and do laundry and stuff. I've already contacted the Health Advocate group to assist with bills and such...learned my lesson the hard way last time! I'll keep you gals updated. Any suggestions are welcome

Well, it is crappy to need another surgery again but it sounds like you're really prepared for this one and maybe removing your ovary will give you more relief than the other surgeries. Glad to hear your mom is coming for the weekend too! There's nothing like mom! Keep me updated! I want to know how you're doing!

So I'm starting to have second thoughts...this doctor's office is REALLY pissing me off and making me uncomfortable. Not only did they forget to call me with my pre-op appointment with the doctor, but they finally give me the appointment and then call me today to cancel it. Said he'll be out of town. My only option is to talk to him THE DAY OF THE SURGERY. Not cool. So that means, if he runs over in the surgery before mine, there's little chance I'll be able to speak with him. Plus, I'll probably be half-unconscious by then! Then to top it all off, they moved my surgery time to 2:30 in the afternoon. I have to stop eating the day before for the bowel prep, so that'll be 36 hours without food. I don't know what to do. I'm just starting to have a not-so-good feeling about all of this. Am I being too picky? I've just been treated so well from the CEC and my own doctor in the past, I'm not used to being shoved off like this. Surgery is a big frickin deal!
