I just feel so silly at the moment. I'm heading up to Atlanta on Monday for my second lap and I'm a nervous wreck! I can't really put my finger on what's bothering me either... I think it's just the general idea of going through it all again I guess? I know I'll be in the best hands possible, and I'll have my wonderful family with me, but I'm just terrified of going through it all again....waking up from the anesthesia (last time I woke up in AWFUL pain, felt like my pelvis was literally on fire), dealing with the pain again post-op, wondering what they'll find or seeing how bad it's gotten in the past few years, blah, blah, blah. I guess it's also the "you've got 6 months of great fertility after the surgery and then it'll start going downhill from there" quote I've heard a million times. I honestly just wanted a break from baby-making from a while after the surgery because I'm just so tired of constantly being let down month after month after month. Plus, just leaving my farm for a week in general is a HUGE deal. Having to rely on someone else to take care of all of my animals is just scary (even though I have good people ). So, I dunno, I just can't shake the anxiety. I know I'm being silly, but I just wanted to get it off my chest.

hang in there! and good luck with your surgery! you know that saying " you find love when you least expect it?" well maybe its the same for baby making?? just have sex for fun, or pleasure and if it happens it happens!

i dont think theyre gonna give u the 6 months of fertility talk....i think its gonna be the total opposite... "go have babies! live the rest of your life endo free!!" think positive... this is the beginning of the rest of your life without endo...

I know. I'm being a total and complete baby about all of is. I don't know why I'm so damn nervous! I have this giant knot in my chest and feel like I'm going to break down and cry at any moment. It's just so much to deal with right now. But I certainly know it's for the better, I just don't know why I can't focus my little pee brain on that at the moment.

I think it's just the fact that your life if changing and that can be overwhelming. I was feeling the same anxiety when I was going to meet my new doctor. Boy that was a relief after I met her. I think you are going to start feeling better once they are drugging you up and getting you ready. You will have a sence of relief because things are going to so much better once you heal up.

I am feeling the same way about a upcoming surgery May 14th I do not know why this Dr says its the last time I will need anything done. I am stage 4 and I know I can not cancel but wow I really want to just not go! My last surgery was a month in a half ago and I did not recover the way my Dr expected at all. I hope everyone on here uses this thread to vent a little and say how they really feel. Afraid! Its a horrible feeling to wake up not knowing what they found or what you will be told next I hope it is all positive for all of us.

I think it's perfectly normal to be nervous - new doc, new clinic, all that fun stuff. To top it off, you'll be out of your comfort zone for a few days. Focus on the things that you CAN control right now - getting your house good to go for when you return, prepping some meals, packing, eating right/getting some exercise to get your body in the right frame of mind, making lists of questions to ask, things you want to bring with you, all that good stuff. Re-read some of the posts about laps to remind yourself of some of the tips others have shared.
And good luck with everything! I can't wait to hear about how great the experience was for you!! Yeah, you might feel like crap for a bit, but in the end, I think you'll be glad you went.

All the best. I find that having my favourite music with me helps a great deal. I too had a bad experience in one hospital with a lack of pain relief and the approach in a different hospital next time around was completely different. I do hope you have a better experience this time around.
Did you make a complaint about the last time?
