Hmm, so today was my last day. Perhaps it hasn't hit me all that much yet, but I'm doing quite well with it all! I have my resume all together and have a few leads that I'll apply to in the next few days, and in the meantime, plan on cleaning this freaking mess of a house! It'll be weird not going back there, but I'll survive. I just hope that I'll actually be able to sleep in a bit tomorrow - usually I'm up at the same time like clockwork!

So I'm thinking of going back to school... Part of me wants to go back for project management, and the other part of me really wants to go back for something in renewable energy! I grew up hearing my dad talk about solar hot water and geothermal heat years ago and I've always been fascinated. I have a lot of research to do before classes start up again in the fall... Here's hoping I can get into something!! I'd likely have to find another part time job to pay the bills in addition to the freelance photography work, but I think I might be able to swing it! I figure now that I have some time to kind of reinvent myself, might as well make it count!

It's funny - several of my good friends have commented that since I've lost my job, the 'old Karen' is noticeably back! She's been gone for almost a year, between the health problems and subsequent depression. I've come a long way with both of those and find that they're mostly manageable most days, but I think it's funny that it took unemployment to get back to my old self!!
