I used to only get terrible pain in my thighs during my period. I now have leg pain all the time--it feels like strong, dull aches (like muscle cramps), with the occasional sharp *bing!* of pain spiking through an area of my leg. My feet also constantly feel like they have pins-and-needles. It really sucks.
My GP believes that I have endo, and that it is affecting a nerve in my back by:
a) being attached to my spinal area or nerve there or b) pushing my organs into the spinal area
She also suggested it could be a tilted uterus.

So were they able to see it during the lap? That is the exact discription of the pain I feel right now... especially at work since I have a 'stand all day' job!!?? Would that be something they could excise during a lap??

Would that be something they could excise during a lap?? I haven't had a lap yet--haven't even seen the specialist yet! I'm scheduled to see a gyn in February. My GP is pretty good with women's issues, and has seen this kind of problem before....so that's her guess until I get the tests done (unfortunately, only the gyn can schedule the tests). She is basically trying to make me comfortable until then through meds.

You'll have to keep me posted on what they end up finding... I'm going in to see my specialist soon as well. I sometimes feel like telling him all this makes me seem crazy though. I know its not, but it is just so difficult to convince some people that its real. I hope he takes me seriously in requesting this lap be done.
So are you just going for the consultation with the specialist at this point?

I'm going to the specialist (gynecologist) on Feb 16th, and then we shall go from there. My GP is really good, and believes me about the pain and discomfort I'm in (even the tingly feet), so if that specialist won't do a lap, she'll just send me to someone else.
I will keep you updated!

That would be great if you could keep me posted! I'll hopefully have some news to post next Tuesday. So we start the long road to come to an answer eh!?!? I figure I won't have the chance to have mine done until spring. I will also keep you posted.

K so I had my appointment today with the specialist. He tells me that the lower back pain and the hip, leg pain sounds like disc disease rather then endo! I ALMOST FLIPPED!!!! Have you ever had a doctor say anything like that?

I have this pain too. It shoot down my upper left thigh on the femur vein, I think that is what it is called.
The Dr thought it was a hernia but the CT showed nothing. The pain sometimes goes down my right leg too.

I have leg pain during my period as well as pain at other times throughout the month. The pain I get in my legs when I am not having my period is not the same kind of pain but I am not sure they are unrelated. Do any of you remember having leg pain before your periods started? Like when you were a child? My legs have been achy for as long as I can remember...

My leg pain is rather new... and now I know its related to the apple sized chocolate cyst on my right ovary. I noticed that a lot of you talked about the pain being on the left side? any other connection to that? Mine is always in my right leg and hip with the right foot being pins and needles...

"Pins-and-needles" sounds like a pinched nerve. If you don't get relief after your upcoming lap, ask for an MRI to check for pinched nerves.

Legs: When I have period pain, I get pain in my legs down to my feet and it feels like it's in my bones - it's deep inside, it doesn't feel like muscles. Hips: At any time of the month I get awful pain in my hips whenever I sit on a hard chair or lie on the ground. It doesn't take long. It feels like it needs to crack in a major way but it doesn't happen. Brown blood: Get it before and after (mostly after), also assumed it was normal.

this has really got me thinking...
I have been told that my uterus is tipped and I have had leg pain all my life, so this is a very compelling idea.
I experienced excruciating leg pain with my period that just ended. It started in what felt like my left ovary and went down to the bottom of my left foot. It actually hurt to the touch. It was so bad I was crying which I don't typically do anymore, just because pain is so familiar but this was unbearable. I took 5 advil over about 6 hours and it eventually worked, or it went away on its own. The stiffness lasted until the end of my period though, and the soreness came and went.
I don't know...

I get pain shooting into my legs, but its with the other pain, and generally its brought on by walking. I have to limit my walking because of how much it aggravates the pain, also if i stand for long periods, the same thing.
