Yup, I just went off prometrium (100 mg) and am now on a 75 mg dose of a compounded progesterone. My doc did a blood test and thought 100 mg might be just a tad bit too strong, so she bumped me down. I DEFINITELY feel a lot better than I ever did with the cream, I just don't think I was using enough with the cream. I have to run, have to keep this short, but in the next few days/weeks, I was going to do a post about my experiences so far in more detail and post some resources. Stay tuned, and feel free to pester me if I forget!

Well, I think I spoke too soon. It seems that this month, the pain is reduced. During the past 6 months, it had been a bit better than it was back in November, December, but last month it took a nose dive and I had more pain again days 4-8. This month I had the pain days 5-6 (and it was less also). So maybe last month was my reaction to the increased dose of progesterone cream. I heard it sometimes gets worse before it gets better. Also, this past month I used the new brand of progesterone oil. Still, I wonder if I should go the prometrium route if my Dr. will prescribe it. I'm anxious to hear your story, Karen. How much cream did you use when you were using it?

Honestly, I couldn't tell you how much I was using, it was more a real guess than anything. But, I know I used less before ovulation and more after to mimic my body's normal progesterone levels. With my current approach, though, I'm using the same dose for 21 days, then off for 7.

I actually measured mine with a 1/4 teaspoon. 2nd month I used two heaping 1/4 teaspoons (about 50mg). With the oil form, it has a dropper and 2 2/3 droppers is 50mg. I did that last month and this month I'm using 3 droppers.
