Well I had my surgery yesterday. I can't say how much I am happy I went with a specialist. He is so knowledgable and an expert. He knew right away where to look and what to do. Turn out I not only had adenomyosis but also fibroids. He got rid of extensive scar tissue. I ended up getting a bowel resection too and he said I had extensive endo in my cul de sac area to which he removed all of it. All in all I am doing ok. Had nausea, really tired and just hungry. I haven't had any food since Sunday night. Doc says I will be in the hospital at least two more nights. I am glad after hearing about my uterus that it's gone. I really happy I saw Redwine. He is the expert and I feel really blessed to of had him work on me. I also did have my ovary removed with the cyst but kept my left. I'm not feeling any hormonal side effects yet. Ok. Enough typing for now.

This pic is me in recovery after surgery Yesterday I finally lost it. I couldn't stop crying. Even though I'm healing ok I am having a hard time with the fact that the endo was as bad as it was and had to do surgery in the first place. The bowel resection has been rough. I've lost a lot of weight. Still can't eat regular foods and I'm so weak and tired. I have water as a bowel movement which is better than nothing. I just keep telling myself to be patient on the healing. I've been staying in Bend for the past eight days and am going home tomorrow. It's a three and a half hour drive. Redwine has been an amazing doctor and am so happy I saw him. I definitely recommend him. This was only my second surgery and hopefully my last. I strongly recommend anyone newly being diagnosed with Endo see a specialist who can cut out the endo and not just burn the surface of it. Redwine is THE leading expert on Endo and wish I could pay for all of you to benefit from his expertise!!! Attachments:

Sorry you are getting down. Just keep hoping for the best! Please update us over time to let us know how you heal and if the pain comes back or not. Will be interesting to compare to the other experiences of surgery e dr. Redwine we have had here on the forum over the years.

Tamela,
I'm glad to hear things are going as well as can be expected. Don't feel bad about getting upset, you've been thru alot, give it time and sometimes a good cry helps to heal emotionally. Best wishes on the drive home - everyday will get better than the previous! Chin up girl!

Hang in there. You and your body have gone through so much. Take good care of yourself and I hope you have a safe drive home. You will be in my thoughts. I have endo in some of the same places you do so I know if I do decide to do surgery again I'll probably go to Dr. Redwine. You are such a strong woman. You can get through this. We are all behind you.

Sending you healing thoughts! You've been through a lot and have every right to lose it every now and again. In the long run, this recovery will just be a little blip in your life and the time you take to heal will be well spent! Big hugs hun!
