Has anyone here ever heard of a link between migraines & endo? I have been getting migraines almost daily since I was a teenager. I just recently found out I may have endo. (I am 36 now) Just curious if they could be linked. Does anyone else have endo & frequent migraines?

I get migraines too. I have heard about this link as well. Migraines are frequently caused by high levels of estrogen, which is a problem most women with endometriosis have. A lot of women reduce their migraines by using natural progesterone cream to balance their hormones. Migraines can also be caused by high levels of progesterone though, so you have to treat it on an individual basis.

Endo in the brain? ?? Whoa! Is that really possible? How was it detected? I get BAD migraines for 10-14 days mid-menstrual cycle. Worst during ovulation. I am not sure if it is due to low estrogen, high estrogen or something else, but I do know they are connected to my cycle and hormones. How do you find out? Between the migraines and the endo pain I am going NUTS!

Are there any other ways to help it besides that cream? I find a lot of relief from migraines by turning to Vicodin You can try to diet modification. I know that a couple of my direct triggers for my migraines are raw onions and too much garlic! Since I broke my addiction to onions, my migraines have been greatly reduced in number.

Taking Vitamin B supplements every day seems to help me. Feverfew is also pretty good--you can take it every day to prevent migraines. Staying away from triggers is a huge thing! For me, caffeine, perfume, and cigarette smoke are three things I have to stay away from at all costs. I've heard that Nutrasweet can also cause migraines, so if you're into diet soda, I guess you need to decide whether it's worth the migraines.

Cigarette smoke also gives me migraines. Those old man type cigars (the big ugly ones) are the worst when it comes to migraine triggers for me!!! The sweet, fruity kind actually smell good to me.

Since the endo pain started again I had problems with migraines as well. I couldn't figure out what it was and nothing was giving me relief (darvocet would help the endo pain but not the migraines). I finally figured out that whenever I am in pain I grind my teeth and grit them constantly (I did this to keep from crying or screaming, trying to deal with the pain better). Since I stopped doing that they have gotten better. Might have just been a coincidence but it worked for me. Now I'm trying not to tighten my shoulders though lol

I think migraines where my first sign of anything going wrong in April 06. I started to have big ones a few days before my periods. Then the next months cramps. And for the last 3 months constant, painful, throbbing cramps and a migraine here and there.
Wow the migrane I had yesterday had me at my knees!!!

I to suffer from bad headaches and migraines. It has been going on since I was a child. When I was a teenager my doctor sent me for ct scans and eeg's and all the results were normal and I was told that I get migraines. They put me on all different types of medications and nothing worked. I had such a bad migraine one time that all the blood vessel's burst in my left eye. Over the years the only thing that has worked for me is ibuprofen ( I take extra strength Advil) and gravol. A lot of my migraines make me throw up and the gravol helps and I had a neurologist tell me that gravol makes Advil more potent. Tylenol does nothing for me. One time I even tried Tylenol 3's and they did nothing for me.
I on average get one migraine during my period but I get at other times as well. Stress and the weather also trigger them. When I do get a migraine I have to go to bed and take my Advil and gravol and try to sleep. After I have gotten rid of the migraine I feel run down. I have started calling it a migraine hangover because that's how I feel hung over. I have gotten really good at dealing with them over the years but sometimes the migraines come on so fast that all I can do is lay in bed and hope that it goes away soon!!!!!
