Oooh! Can't wait to hear how you get on with the new carriers!
The UBW. Is the lack of neck support bc baby is balled up? If so, that's how baby spends time in the womb, so I wouldn't worry about it. (If that is what you meant)

^ No, it's actually just that when he's in the tummy-to-tummy carry, the wrap stops at his shoulders. It would come up higher if I didn't pull his arms out, but my little guy LOVES having his arms free.
Oh, and the Peanut Shell arrived, and it fits! I'm going to try it out when we go shopping tomorrow. (I seriously have only six items of clothing that fit right now.)

^LOL! That includes maternity clothes! I had some good luck at Old Navy. $10 T-shirts that can be spat-up upon. Very baby-friendly.
I have another baby-wearing question, though. About how many hours a day are you wearing her? Do you put her down for naps ever? What do you do for tummy time?
No one else I know baby-wears, so there's a big learning curve for me.

^It depends how much she needs me. If I need to get things done around the house and she's having a particularly cranky day, she can be worn for up to 3 hours! LOL! It's usually in .5-1hr spurts, though. Usually 1 hour a day is outside in 20-min-30-min walks. She shuts up right away when we step outside! LOL! I nurse her down for naps, or if she falls asleep while being worn, I put her down in the co-sleeper/playpen setup. She's now sleeping for about 1 2-hr. nap a day. I know most babies need more...I only WISH I had one of those babies. Basically, just wear as much as you need to to make both your life and baby's life easier. And don't listen to anyone who might tell you that he'll never learn to walk. I heard that and she took her first steps at 8 months.

The whole "not being able to walk bit," not your incredibly smart and beautiful little girl! LOL. I mean... not like babies get much from being in a swing/playpen/etc all day!? Silly people. I'd MUCH rather wear my child to my hearts content than put him/her in one of the above mentioned products.

^HEY! That's a great point! Next time someone says something snooty to me, I'll just retort w/ something about a swing! Love ya! Thanks!

Just an update--the UBW is awesome but is too much of a hassle to put on unless you're sure you're going to be using it. The Peanut Shell is awesome. Period. I keep it in the diaper bag when we're out, and it's been a lifesaver when he gets fussy at church.
And about the swing, etc. I hesitate to label what I do as a mom "attachment parenting" because I'm not sure what that means. I'm just doing what I think is the right thing to do. IF my baby is crying, I pick him up and hold him. If he's hungry, I feed him. It amazes me that so many moms turn to swings and pacifiers right away, as if the baby were doing something wrong by crying!
That said, I my little guy LOVES his bouncer, which I only use when he's awake and wants to play, but I need to eat or cook and can't be on the floor with him. He's only seven weeks old, but he already knows that if he hits the little bird, the music comes on. :-)

Hi,
I still have my hotsling which I purchased for my 1st daughter, but she didn't like it since she was too old once I purchased it and liked walking more than being worn/carried at that time. I'm due for my 2nd daughter and will get her used to being worn from the start.
So I just want to ask hands down to all the baby wearing experts which is the best baby wearer in your opinion? Is the Ergo still everyone's option? What is the peanut??

THe Ergo was great for us until she hit 16 pounds--then it SUCKED! I switched to a wrap, and found it much better. Until she was 12 pounds, I liked the Loopi/loop carrier.
My preference Birth-12 pounds= Loopi 12-16 pounds= Ergo 16-20 pounds= Wrap.
Now I just make the kid walk. LOL
