I've heard pretty much all bad stories just like Lupron. The brand I've heard about is called Synarel.

So the symptoms are exactly the same then? Im a bit worried but i figure as te nasal spray is a daily dose it would be easier to come off it if the symptoms were extreme..

You might have a point there. You'll have to research it more.

I have been on Synarel nasal spray which is a gonadotrophin-releasing hormone for two weeks now. I started taking it day 2 of my cycle and my period has continued for the entire time. I assumed this was normal so didnt report it to my gynae. I also has a dull period like pain with it up until today.
I finally called my gynae who said no its not normal and has put me on premarin - 0.625mg 2 a day for 7 days to combat the bleeding problem . Has anyone experienced this??
I have also felt like I have a urine infection as well on and off for the past week. I have not read that this is an assicscited symptom but has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I've never been on either synarel or lupron, but i did have bladder infection type symptoms w/ every synthetic hormone I have been on. Can you go in for a UA and culture?

Sorry that im responding months later ... i was on Synarel about 10 years ago....i cannot compare it to lupron because ive never been on that but i sorta think lupron must be worse......the worse i can remembe ron synarel was getting really bad hotflashes...i would just burn up!!!!!! of course i wasnt getting my period and was very emotional (sorta pmsing) but i dont remember taking it for a long time....i dont think you can actually take synarel for long periods of time because it can affect your bones.. i think i might have taken it 1yr MAX if that Hope i answered ure question

Hi lmk1019, I have never tried synarel but there are many posting about synarel under the lupron thread that might help answer your questions. Starting of page 7 cass introduces it into the thread since it is the same type of treatment as Lupron. Hope this helps.

So, I started the Syneral Wednesday night and Thursday all day I had this horrible migrane which has continued into today. I know that you get them when you go on it until your body adjusts to the hormones, but when will that be?!

I'm not sure.. i have a follow up appt in like 2 weeks so we will talk about it then.. i kind of don't want to. I took them when i was on Lupron and i think that was part of the reason it didn't work for me. And as a last resort, i really want this to work. Its so frustrating trying everything and not getting anywhere, but back in surgery.
