^Very true! Definitely worth a little scope. I had one, and it was over and finished with in 5 minutes. My urologist also said it is very difficult to tell the difference between vaginal pain and urinary pain. The urine passes very close to the vagina on the way out, so if the vagina is irritated (or dried out from taking hormones like in b.c. pills), it can burn and make it feel like urinary pain. This was true in my case. And once I quit the pills, the pee pain went away.

HELP - PLEASE!!! Please can someone help; I am got myself in a stupid state over this. I keep getting really bad abdominal pain, but esp. after I pee. I notice there is blood in my urine, it looks like that anyway. It only seems to happen with the first one in the morning, but I am not sure it is related to my period, it seems to be like it all the time, or most of the time. I know I should go to the doctor, it's just I hate having lots of tests, also if I am honest then I'm scared of what this means! When I had my lap they said that I didn't have endo ON the bladder, but could this be caused by endo IN my bladder. I absolutely hate all these tests, but I know I can't keep ignoring these symptoms. I just need a bit of moral support, and reassurance that it could be endo. Is there anyone else that has experienced this? Thank you Sarah

Sarah this is definitely the place for moral support but we cannot tell you what that is, and without tests neither can a doctor! And we cannot 'assure' you that it's endo, there are a lot of things I'd rather have than endo on the bladder believe me! When I told my doc about the pain, he tested my urine, had my kidneys and bladder scanned and other members here have had a camera inserted into the bladder, which is painless. There are a lot of things that could be causing this. You have to let the doctors do what they can to find out, after all they just want to help you! You will only be this scared for as long as you DON'T KNOW what this is. It's much easier to face when you know your enemy, so find out! We cannot and will not diagnose endo, even the nurses on this board would not try to diagnose you. You need to be examined, samples need to be taken and so on. Good luck and keep us posted

I agree with Cherry. You need to go the to Dr. You need to be examined and your symptoms treated. Like Cherry I had endo on my bladder too and its not a comfrotable thing to have to put up with. My main symptoms included painful urination and the feeling to urinate but nothing happeing as well as all the pain associated with having it in that area.
You need to undergo tests to determine what is going on as bleeding is a serios issue.

COMPLETELY agree w/ cherry on this end as well! The bladder scope I had done lasted all of under a minute! In and out. Easy peasy. The p*ss test is rather easy, too! Just pee in a cup, give it to the doctor. You can do this! And c'mon. Wouldn't you rather have a bladder infection that is treated with antibiotics than endo that will keep coming back? If yo do happen to have a bladder infection, are bleeding, and NOT getting treated, you risk RUINING your kidneys! GO GET CHECKED, WOMAN!

completely agree with all thats been said.
Just remember the sooner its tested, the sooner you would know. If it helps its more likely to be something simple like an infection than something complicated like endo in the bladder.
The docs will do a process of elimination, and ALWAYS look for the easy answer first. Peeing in a cup to eliminate one possibililty or get an answer is simple and nothing to be scared of.
Its good to consider all options, but to use a popular saying, dont count your chickens before they hatch, so not worth thinking about possibilities like endo in your bladder until all the simple options are ruled out first. I know your scared, but this isnt worth stressing over, just see you doc, get the tests and some answers. If it is something serious better to know sooner than later.

oh and if ur interested, abdo pain and blood in the urine are classic signs of infection. Infections bad enough to cause pain dont sort themselves out.

2 weeks ago i had pain that was soo bad when i peed it was unbearable. I'd start to pee and immediately be in so much pain i'd stop. So i ended up having to just grit my teeth and bare the pain just to pee.
I notice this happens a lot when i get the cyst on my ovaries. This pain lasted about a week and then went back to my "normal" pain. I then had to go get an ultrasound and was terrified to have to drink 32oz of water. Lucky (kinda) the test was two weeks later (yesterday) and it didnt hurt that bad to hold it and when i ended up peeing afterward it didnt hurt either.
I feel those who fear to pee because of the pain. I'm sorry that i have no suggestions to help, only empathy.

I have had endometrosis since may 2007 at the age of 36 having being diagnosed of this horrible condition. I am now 38 and still suffer from this. I get at least 4 to 5 urinary infections per year due to this condition. I drink at least 2 litres of water a day to try and prevent urinary infections and drink cranberry juice on a regular basis. I have had two operations for endometrosis since 2007 and may have to go back into hospital for a third operation depending on my ultrasound films taking just the other day. Findings at laparoscopy revealed nodule endometriosis over my left uterosacral ligament with both ovaries stuck to the pelvic side wall and the bowel tethered to the left uterosacral ligament and also in the pouch of douglas. I also had a Mirena IUCD inserted during this procedure to help prevent the condition from returning. I also suffer from painful periods and heavy bleeding every month due to endo and spend the first day of my period in bed due to severe period pain.

I don't know yet for sure if I have endo but I will be seeing the surgeon in 2 weeks and then he will schedule a lapo. My main problem is severe pelvic pain but once my last "period" (light spotting for 4 days) the pelvic pain eased. But I am still having problems with pain in my vulva and bowel areas as well as bladder pain and the burning when I urinate!! I was very recently treated for a UTI but before I was finished the antibiotics the symptoms started coming back. When I was finished I went on a different kind of antibiotics (which I am on now) but they're not helping so I really don't think I have a UTI this time. Can endo cause this much agonizing burning when and after urinating?? I can't really tell if it's urinary pain or vaginal pain. And my bladder hurting and feeling uncomfortable after urinating?? Please help. It takes so long to see a doctor here in Canada and most of the walk-in clinic doctors here don't take the time to listen. I know y'all can't diagnose, but y'all are saying that burning when and after (for most of the day & night) urinating is part of endo?

Did they culture your urine to rule out an infection? Have you been checked for blockage, kidney stones, etc? If your doc is able to rule all sorts of things out, there is a possibility that it is endo related. As you're obviously aware, we can't diagnose and you'll have to discuss with your doc, but I had a similar experience with bladder pain, burning during urination, etc. Some women have endo on their bladders, ureters, etc. Not to scare you! In my case, they didn't find endo on my bladder, but think my adhered appendix was flaring up and raising all sorts of hell in my abdomen. I was lucky in that my urinary problems settled down for the most part after it was removed and I got the pain under control after my lap.
Best of luck with your appointment with the surgeon! Did you see the list of questions to ask before surgery in the surgery thread? I found it incredibly helpful. Make a list and bring it with you!

Does endo make it burn when u pee, and make it uncomfortable for sex? Kinda like u have a yeast infection?

I've had the burning but went through every test imaginable and nothing came up. In the end, the doc assumed it was inflammation caused by my appendix and endo adhesions that was causing my urinary system to flare up. As for pain during sex and ways to work around it, there's a whole thread here: cjlevett.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pain&action=display&thread=613

I had it and also went through all possible tests and a scope to rule-out IC. Mine wound up being referred vaginal pain from the birth control pill I was on. When I stopped the pill, the urinary pain gradually went away.
