hey butterfly...
try a pain diary and show it to your doc or go there and i hate to say it exagerate the pains if you are not in pain at the time if you are it helps to cry scream whail whatever works as 5 months waiting time is ridiculous and it is not fair on you to stay in such pain for that long as THEY consider endo as JUST ANOTHER THING coz its not i knwo how u feel with the contraction like pains i get it every month and cry feel like ripping out my own uterus and ovaries myself that may help and be less painful.....but your doctor needs to understand the sense of urgency behind this matter and keep trying to find obgyns with a sooner waiting time...u may need to demand they see you and explain the pains to em if your on the phone to them as it has to be resolved
wish u luck in your 'quest'
lol @ have a happy period.....hate dit always and eve now when i watch it i cuss at the tv lol and hubbys like your not right in the head am like DUH try living with ym pains for only an hour i dare you and you may just understand slightly its like coz am not svcreaming or crying in pain you think im not pain but hunni you have no idea i just grin and bare it and have a high threshold....
let me know how it goes xxxx

I have a period app too! My friends find it so strange, but they don't deal with this kind of stuff. It is the only thing password protected on my phone (besides financials) because I don't want my bf picking it up and saying "Oh that's why you're so cranky!" Starting a written journal is a great idea, it will give your doc an idea of the hellish time you've been having.
I actually went out with a friend this past weekend who started taking BC about 6 months ago and it has almost completely gotten rid of her period. She says that she has a light flow for ONE day a month and does not get any craps. I offered to trade bodies with her!
Sorry about the headache!

Glad i'm not the only one with they period app lol...it is a pretty neat app though lol!
I was on the pill many years ago and that made my period go to about three days and I probably start on day 5 for half a day...been off the pill for about 8 years now and periods stayed at three days...so weird too as one minute I am bleeding crazy heavy and them boom I stop.. I am always cautious I will start again but usually has days of spotting..also before my period I may have 4 days of spotting.. Spotting is just as bad as a period though. And why are tampons and what not so expensive?? Should bee free!!!
Well off to bed, see if headache will ease...well in bed, going to try sleep.

Lucky you! (in the length of your period, not the heaviness and pain) I tried a few different pills, but the shortest my period has been in my whole life is 6 days. Since I got off of the pill this past summer, it's been 10-12, with 3 of those days being so heavy that I think I'm dying, 4 normal and 3ish light.

Sorry bout my short period....but yeah ever since the pill many years ago I got all screwed up..I bleed horribly heavy for 2.5-3 days...if I counter in the spotting I have a longer period, but that is mostly mild sitting like a light bleed before, . Clotting is horrendous!
Headache is better today thanks!!
I am currently just using ibuprofen which does not help, might add well take candy! I have tried several thongs, anaprox, toradol, tramacet, and something else all to no help. Going back on birth Control pill this month to see if that Helps even though I do not want to i'm trying. I can not do narcotic pain meds so avoid those...my Dr do not like prescribing them either, so that's good! I will consider it after surgery only...and that is after I talk about with dr.
Nothing had really helped my pain...at Emerg they have me a pain killer but it didn't taker pain away, just made me sick and made me feel funny...lol.
I use a lot of heat, does not take pain away but adds comfort at times. I do massager therapy, for relaxation and to work on pain areas...again do not really take pain away but not much has.
See what the pill does now...I will keep you posted!
Thanks

Don't be sorry! I was just teasing, I wasn't trying to discount what you go through. Even if periods are short, they can still be mighty unpleasant.

Hi everyone, So this afternoon i got a call from the gyne office and they have an opening for me to come in this tuesday soooooo excited!!! never thought i be so excited to see a gyne before lol. I was oersistent with them though, called a few times usually a couple times a week checking in to see if they had a cancelation come up and last called yesterday and asked if they had a cancelation, do they ever have times when people do not show on a regular basis as if so i consider coming and sitting for the day and then advised them that i was looking at going out of province for an appt and would the gyne here like me to bring reports back myself or have the Dr away send my reports directly... I do not know if this helped me get in or not or if a by luck cancelation came up but I am going this tuesday... 4 months earlier wish me luck please....I am hoping for the best ... and hoping that she goes for surgery , obviously not that day, but hoping for that so can get confirmation it is endo and hopefully start to feel better I think someone has been looking out for me.....

YAAAAAYYYYY!!!! I am so happy for you! When I went to the gyno after first suspecting that I may have endo, I made sure to write down everything that I wanted to say, so that I wouldn't think of all of my ideas in the car on the way home and kick myself. I wrote down symptoms, had charts of my cycles, questions, and little tid bits of info that I had picked up to show that I had done some research. Also, don't be afraid to show your emotions, if they see just how much your pain is affecting your every day life, they may be more willing to either explore the option of surgery, or refer you to a colleague who specializes in endo. Wishing you all the best and let us know how it goes!

Thanks Thinking tomorrow i will take time to sit down and start recording questions to ask and stuff...I was going to start recording sympthoms in a book this week too once my period started but have my app for that i will use.. I know people have talked about pain in right shoulder which i have at time and usually have to rotate shoulder in circula motion or stretch arm above head to help ease the discomfort of that.. should i bring that up too? is that a specific endo thing?? i didnt know about the leg pain either as thought that was something else but have heard others talk about that too as well right leg. I must find a list of endo sympthoms and copy that out checking off which ones i have and how often and level or degreee of pain. Thanks

I'm glad you are finally getting to see a gyn!
The pain in the right shoulder might be from endo on your diaphragm. I had some endo there and it can cause pain. It can also be caused by gas and bloating since it puts pressure on your diaphragm. Pain in your thighs and hip can be caused by endo on certain nerves or muscles and adhesions.
Since most of your pain is on the right side, I would request for your appendix to be removed. I had 3 surgeries and they always said my appendix was normal based on tests like CT scans and blood tests. But Dr. Mosbrucker had the sense to look there. It was adhered down to my pelvic wall and a few nerves. My appendix was almost completely black since it was covered with endo in the pictures. So although all your visits to the ER may have said that it was fine, it is safer for endo girls to have it taken out during their lap.
Good luck!
