If you're feeling hormonal and moody, the best thing you can do is tell your hubby up front: 'I know it isn't your fault, but it isn't my fault either. Unfortunately I'm a slave to my hormones and they make me feel crap. Pleas bear with me, and if need me give me a wide berth until I tell you I feel better' :-)

Hey no worries, happy to help. A good combo of painkillers for me eases back pain, or a heat patch, or a tens machine can awesomw for back pain.

My best tip is using ice for the lower back - I find that helps me so much it's like a night/day difference. Try ice and see if that works...make sure you cover your ice pack with a towel if it's too cold, you should have something fabric between you and the ice pack and only for 20-25 min max. Hope this helps!

I'm actually a big fan of heat too. I have a lot of neck problems and sitting in a hot bath really helps relax everything. Usually for chronic pain you use heat, and for new/acute pain from injury you use ice. BUT, if ice makes you feel better then whatever works!

From my experience in the rehab world, If you can work with your doctor to get a TENS through insurance you will get a much better machine for less out of your pocket. That's true in the states, not sure about what you can get across the pond
