Hang in there both of you! The prep is by far the worst. I have a flex sigmodoscopy in 2002. I also had a barium enema which was way worse. For both they give you this stuff that makes you forget anything happened. You will get there tomorrow, lay on the table and you'll go to la la land and wake up in recovery. If you are nervous, tell them you are nervous and that you want more stuff to make you "forget". It's a piece of cake after you get thru with your date on the toilet. I hope the wipes and cream help - I hate the runs and how it painful it can be. Best of luck to you both tomorrow! Nicolle - I also got the IBS diagnoisis but at least it's good to rule things out.

Thanks Nicole.
I'm going to ask them to give me something for anxiety because I do tend to get worked up before procedures. I asked them to do that before my lap last Aug. and I don't remember a darn thing.
My Mom's making me some tea and then I got to start drinking the 2nd half. My Mom's the best.

yeah good idea. So which prep are you doing? I read that there are afew that you can pick from...one was gatorade and miralax, then there was some lemonaid kind of stuff in a jug? I remember in canada I had to buy castor oil and do shots of that. It was by far the most retched prep EVER! YUCK! I'd rather die than ever taste castor oil again. Gross! How are the wipes/vaseline working out? I'm glad your mom is there - always helps to have someone there when you are doing the prep.

I'm doing trilite. It's lemon lime flavored, but it's gross. I'm getting to the point where I'm gagging trying to get it down. I've been chasing it with ginger ale and biting into lemon slices.
The wipes are helping. My butt actually doesn't feel that bad. I only have about three more glasses to go go and then I'm going to take a hot bath.

Does it taste salty? sounds yucky. I'm sorry! good idea on the ginger ale and the lemon slices! I think I read to get it really really cold....makes it taste a little more tolorable. If you are almost done does that mean you have emptied your bowels pretty much already? Ah, I hope so and that you have a restful night sleep! I had to take a colace last night and woke up at 3 30 thinking I had to "go". It finally worked later in the morning but I hate that feeling. Good luck tomorrow, I will be thinking about you! Try not to worry too much, I"m a huge worry wart as well and it was really simple. Wear some comfy clothes and some cozy socks for the ride home after. I think you'll spend most of the day resting/sleeping after you get home. Good night!

It does taste salty and even cold it's gross. I have one glass left and then I'm done. I've emptied my bowls as much as I can. I'll probably have to go to the bathroom a few more times, but I don't think there is much more that can come out. Nice to know I'm not the only worry wart. I keep telling myself the worst part is almost over and then I can take a hot bath and get some sleep. Thanks for being so sweet.

Just got home. I'm still a little out of it, but I did get a little information back from the colonscopy. I forgot that they were also performing an upper endoscopy.
I don't have Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis. So they final diagnosis from the colonscopy is IBS.
The upper endoscopy showed that I have mild inflammation in my stomach. They took a biopsy for H-pylori and celiac disease. He's guessing I have acute gastritis and if my H-pylori test comes back negative then he wants me to try Prilosec and see if that makes a difference.
I'm glad to get some information back and grateful that it's nothing to serious. Thanks again ladies for all of your support and kindness. I'll keep you updated when my pathology reports come back.

I'm glad you are home and doing well! So were you knocked out completely? Did you feel anything at all? Just rest up and relax! I guess if you've used alot of NSAID's that could have caused the mind inflammation right? Thanks for the update! Feel better!

Hey I hope the pathology comes back ok! Colitis is harder to handle than people give it credit for so I can see why you've been feeling like crap for so long! I have stomach ulcers and they just kill me sometimes. Get some rest and let all that stuff leave your body. I really hope you feel better soon!
