What the hell is wrong with people on the internet

I just don't understand why some people think it is okay to be a complete d*ck to people online, just because you can't see them. Is it me? Seriously, am I doing something to warrant this abuse? I'll show you exactly what I mean (Calluna is me)...

Calluna Vulgaris You said it was useful. If the effect is negative, it is not useful. Example: I have a headache. I take Tylenol. My headache does not go away. Tylenol had a negative effect, and is therefore useless.

Calluna Vulgaris Changing the clock does not change the hours of light available in a day. It just changes the time your clock says when you wake up--and farmers wake up with the dawn, or when the rooster starts crowing at 1 in the morning.

Kelly Knobf Hammack Um...changing the clock changed how many hours of light they had. And just so u know not all farmers did or do, get up at dawn. And roosters don't always crow in the morning....seriously, go back to school or at least read a book ....

Calluna Vulgaris The rooster down the street from me crows at 1 in the morning... and keeps going all day. Is there a reason you are being so nasty to me? I feel I have done nothing to deserve this.

I hide or delete mean people. I don't have time or care that much to disagree with them or argue. seriously, deleting my husbands whole family, and setting my privacy so that ONLY my own friends can even SEE what I write, has really reduced the amount of BS that I see.

Some people feel they can get away with anything or do whatever they want over the internet. But they'd NEVER think to do stuff like that face to face, they'd be too embarrassed if they could see the reactions on people's faces...

I've been trying really hard recently to censor myself as well. You can tell from the way I reacted to her--a couple months ago I'd have totally gone off on her. But she's not worth it, and I'm mad that I'm even thinking about it this much later (it happened early this morning, before I went to bed). Is there a way to hide friends of friends? I love Alicia (our mutual friend) she is one of the sweetest people I know, so I don't want to unfriend her.

Have you talked to your friend Alicia about this person? Maybe she can either defend you or at least give you peace of mind about the situation?

Alicia apologized to me, and I told her it's not really her fault, she's not the babysitter to people on her friends list. I think she was asleep when all this went down. I wouldn't ask or expect her to defend me. I have no idea if she's going to unfriend this woman or what, but it makes me nervous to even respond to Alicia's posts, and that sucks.

I don't think you can hide friends of friends, only completely block them - like you both don't exist on FB. I have blocked a few people, mainly from work who I don't want to even have a whiff of my personal life!!

Don't be scared to post, if she starts up again, completely ignore it, everyone will see what a douche she is without you needing to say anything at all
