DeAnna - have you been tested for food allergies? Since it gets worse throughout the day, you might want to rule out food allergies or sensitivities as well.

Karen, the food allergy test is on my list of things to do. I feel like I go to the doctor every other day. I went today actually..... twice. And, food allergy tests are usually out of pocket and I cant afford it right now. I did have them look at my TSH (thyroid) like you suggested. The MD who ran the test said it was normal. The GYN today said that the TSH is high (meaning Im hypothyroid) I guess there is a lot of debate going on right now as to what a normal thyroid panel is. My Dr today is a GYN w experience in endocrinology and she says that the standardized lab values used are for men and that women are different. Ive gained 25 pounds in less than a year (5 pounds in the last week) and Ive always been super skinny. So, maybe this helps to explain things.

Hmm, what is your TSH? And did they check your free T4 and possibly free T3? If your TSH is above 2.5 or 3, it most definitely could be the cause of some of that weight gain! Does the doc have a plan for that?

So I've put on about 5 pounds in the last week, which is typical when I think my period is nearby. No sign of it just yet, but last night I got a case of the shovels. I shoveled so much food in my mouth and, coupled with the bloat, I looked a good 8 months pregnant. It was so bad that when I had a glass of water to wash down my night-time supplements, it was PAINFUL to find room in my tummy for it. I feel like I lost about a trimester overnight. But now I'm hating myself for eating nothing but taco meat, chips, and refried beans last night because I've already made three very productive trips to the bathroom this morning and it's not even 7 o'clock.

I get that massive shovel it in thing as well! I always wonder why...? I take enough supplements that I shouldn't be low on anything, or craving anything. The last three days I have woken up bloated which is very unusual for me. Its usually by night time I'm so miserable. Its super wierd but when my stomach is its most miserable I want to stuff my face. It gives me brief periods of feeling better before that much food to digest makes the rest of me feel awful. I try to eat little bites all day instead of huge meals.

Since I was diagnosed with celiac I have been learning a lot about absorption problems. If your body isn't absorbing properly then you'll feel like you're starving all the time. I used to have an insatiable appetite before my diagnosis. Now I know why! The bloating thing is terrible! Has anyone ever tried those diuretic pills you can buy at the store?

I have and they're crap. I've also had diuretics on prescription. They work, but don't necessarily fix the root cause of the fluid retention. The herbal or store bought things didn't do anything for me.

Diuretics never helped me with bloat either. Karen, I hope you deflate soon!

Yesterday my pants were so big on me that they were almost falling off my body. Today I can't even button them! WTF?? How does that happen? My period is supposed to start today but I'm guessing it's late since my surgery and stuff might have messed with it so maybe that's why I have this pregnant looking belly. GRRR it seems against all logic that a stomach can get this big over night.

I have to rant on here and then I promise to be good and nice the rest of the day. I am huge and so glad it is fall so I can cover it up. Yesterday I had on a pretty sundress and it was 80 and today it is cold so I have on two shirts and cardigan sweater to cover up the belly. I am so sick of it! If I was not in a library right now I do feel I could turn into a bratt with the amount of complaining I am doing in my mind. I hope this is a standard week bloat I get. I have a party next weekend and the dress I plan to wear is for little Keri not bloated Keri. My cramping was awful last night I should of had a clue I would wake up like this. Thanks ovaries for making endo still possible! Those little things create so much drama in my body! I will have the no eat...eat little...upset stomach, everything stays in then everything goes out situation for about a week sometimes more but I really need every bite I take to absorb and stay in to keep me healthy and strong.

It's official, ladies... I'm 8-1/2 months pregnant. At least that's how I look, no lie. I had some spotting today, and I think coupled with my poor eating habits of late, I'm bloated beyond belief and it's almost all in my belly. I. feel. gross. I typically only get this bloated when my period is coming, though my body has been known to surprise me with the bloat from time to time. I hate this!
