I am going to read the 2nd book before I watch the movie this time. I am so excited I think Lizbeth is my most favorite character of all time! I have to put it on hold we have a wait list for all of the books. I read the bio of the author last night. He never even got to see the success of his writing reminds me of Sylvia Plath and The Bell Jar. Both were authors that went before they should have.

Yeah, I've heard some interesting things about him, and there's a rumor out there that his girlfriend was left with an outline for a 4th book... Also his background and why he was so vocal about women's rights is so interesting... He apparently watched a girl get gang raped and did nothing, so he vowed not to be silent about it again (or so I heard from someone in my book club). But that may explain the facts he has about violence against women in his book, and why he made Lisbeth such a strong character! Did you know the Swedish title is "Men who hate women" or something along those lines?

Yes I read all about it. He witnessed a 15 year old girl be gang raped and that is why he wrote Lizbeth as such a strong character. The title Men Who Hate Women is perfect for the book but I am sure the publishing company had to change for fear it would not sell if that title remained. His girlfriend has a partial of the 4th book and a synopsis of a few others. It will be interesting to see if they are writtten or who writes them.

ok now reading the name of the rose, AGAIN. I swear I was raised presbyterian, and I'm not really religious now (except praying against endo lol, also pray for you all a bit ha ha) anyhow I have to say I love this book. Except have never even seen the movie. So last night hubby comes home and says "omg, how many times are you going to read that?" and I'm like, well, once a year, for my whole life? lol.... it's a great book if you havent read umberto eco you should, he's wordy and descriptive along the lines of garcia marquez.... anyhow I guess the movie is more slanted toward the gay monk sex than in the book, and hubby was raised catholic and just has this whole 'icky' reaction to all that stuff.... lol i was laughing so hard, I'm like, 'honey you should really read the book, I swear they arent all pedophile monks, in the book its just barely mentioned' and he's looking at me all funny, like 'who did I marry that is so into pedophile monks that she's reading this awful monk pronography book, AGAIN?" how funny huh. I swear the movie people just dont get us book nerds, because they just don't read the books, and base everything on movies, where honestly they HAVE to make it more sensational in some way to make money. ha ha ha ha ha ha ahhhh ha!

The Language Of Flowers and Abe Lincoln Vampire Slayer is on my list before movie comes out. 50 Shades has been banned in some library systems. Not read all of it yet but what I did read the writing is not great but everyone has a different preference.
