I was thinking about re-starting the Hitchhiker's Guide, and I need to go pick up the new Stephen King novel. Currently, I have 3 or 4 novels in progress, one a historical fiction. I have often finished King, Koontz, Laymon, and Gerritsen in 2 days, or less. For any of you ladies that like a good suspense, Laymon will scare the sh*t out of you, and you'll love every minute of it. Oh, and King's "Everything's Eventual" is amazing.
I have to catch up on my Koontz, though. At one time, I had read every one he'd put out, but I have to do a little work to regain my Title.
Oh, something else - the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich is good, when you need to laugh your ass off.

I'm finally reading Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel, it's excellent. I'm obsessed with Tudor history and love the historical fiction that surrounds it. This book is great, more absorbing than The Other Boleyn Girl!

NERD ALERT! I'm simultaneously reading the Harry Potter series and the Twilight series.. ugh I feel like such a teenage girl! Have you guys heard of the website www.goodreads.com?It's like a place where you review the books you have read, or read other people's reviews. You can have a friend list and with your friends and start discussion forums and stuff too. It's pretty neat.

Jenaya I am on good reads too:) Love it the qoutes I post on FB alot are from the goodreads. I could spend hours collecting qoutes from that site. I also recomend the site to every patron that says they forget if they read a book bc you can keep track of your books that you read. www.goodreads.com/The Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy are flying off the shelf. The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo is the one everyone is using for the book clubs. I have not read them yet but will try them soon. I think last time I checked we have over a 100 holds on that book. The swedish movie is already out and alot of patrons are on the list for that and I believe a american version is in the works too. I am sure the movie is Oscar worthy if it is as good as the book. It has subtitles for anyone who is not swedish I have a hold on it but prob will not get it for months.

Yup, we read the first one for book club, and after we discussed it, we all agreed that we needed to read the second one. It's THAT good! It's a big book, but I read them both within a week. Can't put it down!

we are dead broke but I couldnt stand it anymore and hit the used book stores. I'm huge on fantasy, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, they are all good. I picked up one new author Teresa edgerton. Pretty awesome books so far. I picked up the Terry Goodkind Sword of truth series too but its pretty gruesome, not sure about it, although I only read the first three so far and there are twelve. They seem a lot like the Robert Jordan series though which will never be finished since the author died. My absolute favorite author is the little known Patricia Mckillip, my favorite of hers being Changeling sea. If you like fantasy pick up Mckillip.

warning, the movie of the dragon tattoo book is totally swedish! also i ffwded the one scary bad scene (u know it from the book....) but the girl they have for salander is PERFECT!!! omg.
right now reading TCOYF! got it at thrift store for 50cents. so far this is the only recommeded endo book i have found yet in Alaska, and that in a thrift store!
along with lots of crappy mysteries, also reading a book about brothels in Chicago in 1899, fascinating, the Everleigh sisters were the madams. apparently the source of 'getting laid' is getting 'ever-leighed,' since their brothel was SO famous everyone went around bragging about it.... hmmm.

I've heard that about the movie (and about 'the scene') but I still want to see it anyway! Usually I don't do well with suspense movies, but since I already know the story line, I should be fine. Can't wait to see it!
And funny about 'getting laid'. Who knew?
Hope TCOYF is a good read for you! And cheap, too? What a find!

I just picked up The Naked Truth its about one of the girls from the Real Housewives of New Jersery. I know what the heck! I read anything sometimes Im not the snobby librarian that will only read Jane Austen. LOL!
Some of my best finds have been at thrifts stores. I found a Louisa May Alcott Little Men Second Edition for $5 its worth $75. If I feel like buying instead of borrowing I always go to the Good Will.

used book stores, goodwill, garage sales, at least then when its a bad book you don't care about paying for it. I hate the library only because I love books so much that when i find that great one I want to keep it. (just kidding Keri, I really love the library) I always have to go online and try to find it on Albiris.com when i get that really great book that should be on my beautiful shelves.

Pretty, I just saw The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo last night. Loved it! Had I not read the book first, I think it would have been a difficult movie for me to sit through, but since I knew what was coming, I was fine. Wow, really told the story well! There were some parts that weren't quite the same as the book but all in all, very good movie. Glad I saw it! And you were right - the Lisbeth character was SPOT ON!
