I've been awful with the endo diet in general but have eaten wheat and gluten over the last few weeks and I'm sure that's contributed to what seems like additional pain this month. I'm getting back on it now starting with making sure I have no wheat or gluten!

Ahhh, isn't it awful when you're in a lot of pain and can look back and pinpoint what may have been the cause of some of it? I hate that! Good luck getting back on the wagon, hun!

Olive Oil and herbs sounds great. Not yet at the veggie stage it kills me and I love them but doc said kinda stay away for now until I heal more. Veggies are the hardest food to digest that was interesting info to me. Karen I heard the rice pasta gets mushy I figured give it a try tho brown rice is getting old. I need a little change.

I took a test yesterday at the NP, it was a blood glucose test. I was supposed to not eat, then they check your blood sugar, then you eat pancakes, syrup, and juice, and they check it one hour and two hours later. Well he had given me permission to eat a baked potato with syrup and juice, since I'm not eating wheat, but then I ran out of time and forgot my potato, so I just went ahead and ordered pancakes to go.... ate the pancakes.... well I haven't eaten wheat in so long, and combined with all that sugar I have been farting for the last day. Can definitely feel that pancake in my guts! My blood sugar turned out perfectthough so that's good, but boy after no wheat for so long, I am actually kind of stoked to have eaten some of it, so I can see very clearly what it does is not so good.... no tummyache yet but lots of gurgles and indigestion.... we'll see what else the pancake brings. I feel like a scientist lol...

You're a science experiment!! It is really interesting though as the effects of wheat are almost instant. Not to be personal (although we always are!) you'll probably notice a difference when you have a bowel movement, more difficult.

Glad the blood sugar test came back normal, but sorry about the wheat... I can always tell when a bit of gluten slips into my meal without me knowing... Hope the farts go away for you soon!

My son loves the gluten free cookies I got from the local bakery:) He has no idea he is even eating something better for him. I have been doing this with alot of the food. Brown rice pasta the other night. Gluten free and dairy free mac and cheese. Really he loves and asks for more every time I serve him something. I think I am ready to try the buckwheat pancakes on him. Jenaya says they are good. A bit of sugar free syrup and I bet he will love them.

So I have been so good for a LONG time, then last week picked up a box of organic oats and honey granola, and boy! let me tell you I can NOT do oats. I guess they DO have gluten. Or maybe it was the honey, but I had wierd pains, followed by a 24 hour headache! with all the drugs I'm trying not to take I was scared to take anything but finally left work early and went home, took 3 ibuprofin, and slept for 3 hours then the headache was gone. The only difference was the oatmeal so I told Warren to eat it lol. Anyone else notice issues with oats and/or honey? that was one doozy of a headache!

I can't have oats, they're on my food sensitivity list. And damn, I used to have a granola bar every morning. No WONDER I felt like ass all the time!! Glad you're doing better!

Can you use the gluten free oatmeal? Not sure of the differnece but that is what I use and its yummy and no bloating. Other thing I am trying is the Chomolile tea for my headaches at night its called Sleepy Time and really can knock out that night time anxiety and let you sleep. Celestrial Sensations in the brand I use it even comes in variety pack. Hope that helps Pretty let me know....

I have been considering just starting an entire thread dedicated to wheat gluten and celiac. We have a few threads with wheat stuff being mentioned which I might just move into one thread. I'll work on that one....
But yeah, wheat has worked its way to my evil list.

Wow this was interesting!! I got this from the first link.
"If we view celiac disease not as an unhealthy response to a healthy food, but as a healthy response to an unhealthy food, classical CD symptoms like diarrhea may make more sense. Diarrhea can be the body’s way to reduce the duration of exposure to a toxin or pathogen, and villous atrophy can be the body’s way of preventing the absorption and hence, the systemic effects of chronic exposure to wheat. I believe we would be better served by viewing the symptoms of CD as expressions of bodily intelligence rather than deviance. We must shift the focus back to the disease trigger, which is wheat itself."
And this is what happened to me!!
"In those who do not have the HLA-DQ locus, an autoimmune destruction of the villi will not occur as rapidly, and exposure to the universally toxic effects of WGA will likely go unabated until silent damage to distant organs leads to the diagnosis of a disease that is apparently unrelated to wheat consumption."
