This doesn't really fit but a girl I used to work with has announced today on Facebook that she's hungry and wants her op soon.
So I knew she had something done a while ago with her ovaries and wanted to ask about it and she told me it's her second endo op, they're lasering on her right hand side.
She was apparently lucky to get have her son last year following the op that diagnosed her, but she's finished her law degree, dealt with endo all this time without hormones cos they make her ill, had a break-up and raising her beautiful little boy... I'd like to have a mini-rave for her. I know her as a nice girl and she has not once whined about her personal life (very hard on fb cos sometimes you just feel the need to have a public status update pity party) or her health, she just asks for McDonalds while in hospital awaiting surgery, haha. She says nobody understands the pain and I felt like shouting at my phone (I was messaging her on my phone) 'I hear ya sister!'
And there's no hint of self-pity, not even the bitterness we all sometimes feel, just a firm idea that she will not submit to more surgery and that she hopes this op works.
I feel a little emotional today and I just wanted to rave for her, cos finally I've come along and understand the pain but she's just trooped through everything til today and will do beyond today, being classy and beautiful and just amazing really. An unsung hero because nobody quite gets the depth of her struggle with this disease.
She even put off her op until her last exam was finished last week. I can stand to learn from her.
Damn I don't know if this even makes sense, haha!
